Does anyone here know how to do the washer mod for the rear coilovers? It think it implies putting a few "washers" on the rear 02-03 coilovers so that they fit an 04-05 wrx. I can't find any detailed information anywhere. Anyone here done this before?
WOW, there's so much interest in this thread... :squint: :squint: WRX-WRC the coilovers are not interchangeable. The 02-03 have different top hats and springs on the rear coilovers. I've read on NASIOC about the mod, but i can't find any instructions on how to do it exactly. Anybody else know anything about it??? hello... hello... anybody out there...
Third hit on NASIOC for 'washer strut': http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=877041&highlight=washer+strut
I really dont know all that much about the washer mod to be honest, it was explained to me this weekend, and Im really not sure I would trust that sort of jerry riggin' to myself. Kee us updated.
im pretty sure if you are going with an after market coilover then it will work between all years of WRX's the STi's are different. if i am wrong then just find some tophats that fit your year and put them on the coilovers.
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showpost.php?p=11583698&postcount=5 I've only heard of the washer mod for fitting 04+ springs onto an 02-03 car. There's a lot wider variety of springs, especially wagon springs for the 04 and newer cars. The 04+ rear springs taper towards the top of the spring and the tophats are designed to match.
