    1987 Goped

So we decided to spice up our new pit vehicle, our first baseline pulls showed that there was alot to be gained.

First Pull on the dyno we notice the goped was having a hard time putting the power to the ground. It appeared the slipper clutch needed to be adjusted. So I started there and made some adjustments. To my suprise the goped reacted just like I though it would.

    Run#1 Baseline
Run#2 Slight Clutch Adjustment to hold the power

Made an 18% gain in power, initial road test confirmed the dyno results, the Goped was moving.

Next Step was to get her back on the dyno now that the clutch was holding. I decided I would pour in some C16 and lean her out to see if I could get some more gains.

Run#3 was after the carb adjustment to lean her out. The graph shows it was going to make some more power.. but I had to shut her down early... cause the phone rang.

After getting the fuel straight I started to think man this intake must be hella dirty since I have never changer or even cleaned the airfilter. So I decided to ditch the factory airfilter for a much better free flowing K&N unit I had laying around.

Run#5 was with the K&N cold air intake, again there were huge gains from this. The test ride afterward actually scared me as the goped was achieving speeds never dreamed of before.

Even though we have now increased the over all power by 26% that wasn't enough.

So I decided to make a custom 1" exhaust for it, again the gains were huge up top. As expected the free flowing exhaust extracted even more ponys from up top.

Here is the final graph from baseling to finished product 32% gain. This just goes to show you that a real tuner can tune anything. LOL

Dyno'd it last night, actually right now were are extremly busy, we have two Evo's with full motor builds one is getting stroked, an STI with motor build, IS300 getting turbo'd, RS with motor Swap,3000gt getting big turbo upgrades with fmic, not to mention the other daily things we do like turbo installs, clutches, downpipes, etc.. so ya we have plenty to keep us busy. Its was just last night before we all left to go home we got a chance to unwind a bit and play with the goped..
