Weather or not?

Not to bring up something that probably has been discussed to death since the dawn of engine management, but I did anyway:eek3:....Even with exhaust and cobb stage 2 since it has gotten warmer wow what a decrease in power. I thought at first it was an engine issue. With the dramatic change in weather over the past two weeks my car responds in unison. Case and point two nights ago cool ambient air temp and my car woke up like a monster, exhaust note, very deep gurgle, and great engine response. Today, as has happened over the past few warmer days, weaker throttle response and exhaust note asthmatic. I guess my question is, can this be overcome with a custom tune or will the ecu be ever fluctuating based on ambient air, baro pressure etc.

Nope. For maximum heat transfer (power) in the internal combustion engine, you need

The Coldest Intake air Temperature possible
The Hottest and most complete burn in the cylinder possible
The Hottest Exhaust gas temperatures possible.

The warmer ambient air temperature decreases thermal efficiency of the motor.
Also, cold air is denser than warm air so you are actually using less air in the combustion process.

If this is a huge issue for you, my best advice is to get some sort of IC cooling system (water spray or CO2). Damn physics!

I was going to say its all the pollen in the air. I just looked at my now yellow car and can see it being slower.

Although, now that the exhaust has a huge hole in it, I noticed a huge improvement in power. I say everyone just run the cars with open headers or downpipes! :D

Do you have a heat shield on your turbo/downpipe? If not I have a brand new cobb sitting at home for sale for $50

2pt5RS has a good point. Check your air filter real quick and see if it is yella.

    Temperaturemental you mean...;)

My Outback is the same way. If its cold out, say 50*F or under, its noticeably faster than when its 80*F+.

Maybe reverse an AC duct into the air box :naughty:. I wonder if anyone tried that one before? Might actually be the first instance in which the AC did not slow down the car.
