Ok, so after Will and I kicked @$$ at trivia tonight, I was driving home and at 3/4 to 1 full turn of my wheel to the left I get this weird popping sound from the suspension. It's done it a few times turning right too. It's not because i was hitting anything in the road. Any ideas? No pattern that i can see except wheel turns and it's intermittant
bigb can you clarify what you mean? What rubber top piece or can you suggest where to isolate the bushing?
ive had 2 clicks when going to full lock left from a start... its been there for ever and hasn't gotten worse
Mine did that when i first got my springs, i think they were trying to get seated. Now the noise has gone away though. If you just recently got springs that may be the problem. Can you feel any binding in the steering wheel when the noise occurs??
Springs are about 3 months old at this point and well settled, so I doubt that. I'm leaning towards sway bar bushings. There's no binding in the wheel either, which is what confuses me. Alex, lemme know when a good time is and we'll try to replicate the problem.
If you have just recently installed swaybars then im 99% sure its because of that. Try torqueing the endlinks to 35ft-lbs.
if its not the swaybars push down on the body of your car were the noise is coming from then try to see where the poping noise is coming from. With my problem i could push down on the car and it would pop in the strut area.
Tried pushing down on boh sides of the car. The passenger side did nothing, the drivers' side squeaked a little (from putting in the springs). I'm trying to work that squeak out but none of the popping sounds.
i had to bring my car in when i first got it because it was clicking when i turned....SOG said it was my CV joints and they fixed it....$400 in labor later... j/k I'm pretty sure it was under warranty....
Steve has someone looking at it today during my install, and scott's testing the car so hopefully one of them will hear it and have an idea what to do.
