ok so i was visiting an old friend of mine on xmas eve and i brought him a bottle of patron tequila as a xmas present and he gave me his "paper weight" in return as a present. you see he lost his liscence for soin 160 in a 70 in an 03 cobra, so most of his car stuff is useless to him now. any way long story short he comes out and hands me a t04 turbo charger , he has no idea what trim just that it came off of an LT1. the motor blew up right after installing the turbo (it wasn't on a car, it was some peice of equipment... idunno) so the turbo has no miles and no shaft play. i don't know if there is any part of this turbo that can be used with the car or what. i just want some help identifying exactly what kind of turbo it is. cast into the housing is AiResearch T04 and the plate on the back says: Allis-Chalmers turbocharger p/n 4036391 s/n mk0248 MOD T04b90 if anyone can help me out with this i would appreciate it, jlp
What you have there be a T04B90. If you look at it there should be an 'AR' or 'A/R' number stamped on the hot as well as on the cold side.
this guy used one on a sr20 for 480 whp here's his list "darton sleeves, weisco pistons, eagle rods, T04B90 turbo, 64mm TB, blitz 850cc injectors, KAYABA 3 puck race disc, and many other goodies...." www.xanga.com/Sr20det_Boy
Ha ha.... Deisel and gas turbos are somewhat different in their initial build. The both operate off of the exhaust gases ofcourse.
oh no doubt, but according to mc-motorsports and holcomb motorsports it does just fine for chevy 350 and ford 302 single turbo setups and mc-motorsports even sells custom flanges for it. anybody got a mustang or camaro out there?
My roomie had a blown supercharger someone gave him as a decoration in our apartment for two years. When we moved he put a bunch of "crap" on eBay to get rid of it. This scrap blower went for $500 and the guy was happy to pay it! I'd say put as much info as you know into the description, take lots of pictures of it, then put it on eBay. See what it goes for. I sold a stock KKK04 turbo with 75K miles off my old Audi A4 that was sitting next to the supercharger for $390! I couldn't believe it! Use the $$$ you make to buy a VF39! mmmm....
