Well I have decided to put my OEM wheels back on the car. The other wheels were just too aggressive and rubbed due to how wide they were. Also my mileage suffered by 2.6 mpg due to the aggressiveness. Tramlining was horrible and the ride quality sucked. So I went back to the OEM wheels and the crappy Nitto Invo tires which will need to be replaced soon and OMG what a difference. Handling is better and car is back to what I fell in love with....comfort. So I'm sticking with these OEM wheels but there is one issue with them. The previous owner curbed 3 of the wheels. All of them have the clear on the machined surface flaking and it's slowly but surely working it's way down the face. It'll eventually just look like poo in the end. So I can fix the curbing but in order to get it to look polished still will require a LOT of work.....work I really don't wanna do but will if the general consensus is that polished looks best. Here are the options..... 1) keep wheels polished. I love the look and it just makes the car look good. 2) powder coat them a dark gold (crappy photoshop) Those are really the only two options I'm allowing. I'm not doing gunmetal or black or anything like that. Too dark and just takes away from the carbon black color of the car.
Yeah the more I look at the pics the more I realize the coloring will just plain look stupid. Anyone in Atlanta that comes with high recommendations? I'll dig through the other threads for recommendations in the meantime. I think I remember Cicio recommending someone.
metro wheel has been recommended by quite a few people. I think cicio has someone he uses up in woodstock though
Thanks. Found their site. $125 a wheel is a little steep but sound like they are some of the best. Also shot Greg @ Legacy Coachworks an email per Cicio's recommendation. Thanks guys.
Miller Powdercoating is who Milo used way back in the day. I believe he paid $50 per wheel to have his stock STI BBSs powder coated black.
So I called Metro and they need 4-5 days. Rather not do that as I need my car and will only be in town for a few days. My spare wheels are likely gonna be sold soon so that puts me in a bind. Called Joe @ Accurate Alloy and he said if I schedule a day then he could fix them easily while I'm there that day. Also was much cheaper at $50 a wheel. Waiting on Cicio's guy to call me back.
