What is broken?

So it seems that my car is heading for a major breakdown (its just one thing after another) but I think I need an alignment, someone back me up.

    Story:
I hit a metal "hole cover" that the DOT loves to use in GA but now when I turn left the steering wheel is less responsive and when I turn it back to the right the steering wheel stays a little crooked to the left. BUT when I turn right again it realigns itself and the steering wheel is straight again.

    Thanks for the help,
    Michael

Yeah I had plannd on it but it being Sunday and all I guess I have to wait until tomorrow. You think it is all right to drive on for a day or so? The wheels don't pull one way or another its just the steering wheel. Thanks for the reply

Yeah, you'll be fine.. I wouldn't wait any longer than you have to though.
