What is the best blow off valve?

what is the best blow off valve for my 05 sti?

 

Me personaly I like the GFB blow off valve beacause you can adjust it and it recerculates back as we'll. I have one on my 06 sti and used on my 04 wrx as we'll. The turbo xs RFL i used to have, but it can be a pain to adjust and some people have had issues with these. Greddy makes a pretty good one.

 

the stock recirc valve is good for upto ~22 psi and it is probably best to stick with it since it recirculates... for most stock turbo + pump gas tunes, i doubt u will run >22psi

if u want better sound, u can get a cold air intake... or go with something that is at least 50% recirculating

 

Yup, the best BOV for your car until it's heavily modded is the one you don't buy.

 

i would get a cai before a bov for our STi's. i might go that route before i get some em done. a bov doesn't give you any hp....a cai might give you 5hp. hey better than nothing right?

 

thats why I was trying to explain to him that the GFB blow off valves recirculate about 50% figured he would like that one.

Yeah I was going to say the one that doesn't cost extra, I.E. the stock piece.

A good CAI is nice though.

 

you could get a GFB stealth that's adjustable from 0-100% atmospheric? ....and that way if ya want noise you got it and if your lookin for performance you can switch it up!!

 

I agree with, I had that BOV and loved it, 50/50 are the best kind to get in my mind.

 

See, after SS explained just how bad no recirculation can be for a MAF based turbo motor, I'm not even going to think about a non-recirculation BOV. In other words imagine that turbine wheel he has on his desk.... :eek3:

FORGE bovs are excellent without the usual problems with atmospherics and they also make a recirc also

Does anyone know of a specific one that makes the sound like..... well i've heard it refered to as a bird noise? i know that sounds strange but when i really thought about it it sounded about right hahaha. more of a whistle than a psssh

doesn't the perrin recirc sound alright? no need to go atmospheric. i mean, if you really "need" to get a bov

 

stick with the stock and invest the money in a more beneficial mod

 

i have a BOV SSQ and i love it it's from HKS and a great one makes a loud sound goes like PUSSHHHHHHHHH!!!! it's great but if i was you i wouldnt make that mistake of getting one i love it i mean it's good but for proformance it's bad overall if u looking to make ur car a show with 70% go i think u would love HKS SSQ BOV

 

I just installed the APS bov/bpv on my car 'cuz the turboXS wouldn't hold boost...

It's full recirculating under low boost and blows off to atmosphere at full boost. It drives alot smoother under normal driving conditions and boost holds allllot better than my turboxs.
