Because it looks sweet. Given how dark my interior currently is the contrast between the mirror (which is black) and the gray headliner was killing me. I wanted to do something to tie the black in up there and put my eyes at rest. I thought, naturally, why not see what I can do with the map light, and if I like that I'll do the same to the dome light... Now, I already have another idea for the map light and that is to create an effect similar to what the BMWs do up there to provide ambient lighting at night. Two small orange LEDs, but we'll see if that ever works out. Thoughts?
The only adjustment Ill make is to take it back off and wetsand it down...even the stock piece has some texture which I do not appreciate. I wanted to throw it on just for some photos. You may notice one of my visors is actually black in one of the photos. That's a testing piece we're doing. The visor has been wrapped in an extremely high quality sexy feeling leather.
alcantara headliner sounds badass... btw i've been using red leds in those map lights and i love them. no night blindness when they're on
Well I will be putting white leds in there for brighter light once illuminated. But I want the smaller less intense ambient leds for night light.
