how can a STi that costs $91,915 be that slow? :eek3: really, someone read this artical and explain it to me. please. Power (mfr's claim): 450 bhp @ 7000 rpm Torque (mfr's claim): 420 lb-ft @ 4700 rpm 1/4-mile: 13.5 sec @ 106 mph http://www.caranddriver.com/article.asp?section_id=35&article_id=10165&page_number=12
Sad, isn't it. Unless they give a specific breakdown of every modification done, I couldn't even begin to answer your question. Sad thing is that they spent an additional $30,000 on powertrain mods to gain an additional 25 hp, assuming that they tested the Track spec version. If they went with the Street Spec they are just plain dumb. Per the ESX Website PERFORMANCE Available in two Horsepower ratings for 2005.. 1-Street Spec. Approximately 365 Engine Horsepower - C.A.R.B. Approved and Smog Legal. 2-Track Spec. Approximately 425 Engine Horsepower Option - OFF ROAD use only version.
maybe the driver sucks?? even though that thing isnt the fastest in the 1/4 i bet its a monster on the highway..i read an article once with 2 wrx's competing in the quarter. one with stock turbo puttin down approximately 250hp vs one with an 16G puttin down about 300hp and the 250 hp won the race by a little less than half a second.. big turbo = big lag
