Whats up guys. Now that I have some extra cash I was thinking of getting a CAI and a Uppipe. Then getting it tuned. Thinking on getting a bov too. Was going for the hks one but everyone has it. Don't want to sound like everyone with a turbocharged car u know.
def go with the downpipe and the uppipe. You really won't make any power unless your car is tuned for a CAI..
i take it by your screen name you have an 06 WRX in that case do not get an UP you already have a catless one from the factory. go with the DP.
Tuning would be a great idea, best performance tool out there. If you have an 06 (I assume from your username), an uppipe will get you very little gains and a pain in the arse install. If you want the BOV for the sound, be aware that there have been many problems with them (lumping idle, boost issues, things like that). It will actually hurt performance and is not needed for your car ( not now, anyway). A CAI will be OK with a tune, but will also net little gains. And +1 for the downpipe. Downpipe + tune = torque city.
What does your budget look like? All 06 models now have catless uppipes. I would invest in a full TBE and then a tune if you are seeking to maximize performance quickly. Also, you could consider springs, sways, etc.
I already have a turbo back exhaust. And I know I don't have a cat in the uppipe but I want more air flow.I was going with either a K&N or injen. I have about 1k to spend. After I have some decent power I will start with my suspension work. But for that I will have to save another 800. Subaru of gwinnett will be handling all of the hard work.
With 1k, get AP and Protuned! Give Scott Siegel a call and he will set you straight and answer all your questions.
Yeah I was thinking about it last night. I will most likely just get AP and protune. And then start working on my suspension. Thanks for all the advise guys. Later..
Awesome, once you sort yourself out a budget think about what you want to do to the car. Do you want to autox it? Do you want to track? Do you want to just straight out drag? Think of what you want from the car, then go from there. This will help you save money in the long run as well!
