Where to buy SEM paint?

My autometer console triple gauge pod was just delivered this weekend, and I read over on NASIOC that SEM "bumper black" aerosol spray paint is a fairly close match to the flat dash color on the Impreza.

Does anyone know of a store or source around town where I can walk on and buy this stuff?

We carry SEM products at Year One where I work. I will check tomorrow and see if we have the "bumper black."

I can get SEM right by my work and I live in Marietta. I just painted all of my silver dash panels with black in a textured look. I can pick you up some cans of SEM or you can see what I have done to compare.

+1 on the pics (if available) :sx:

Ayrton, do you work somewhere in Marietta??
Any idea what the name of the place is that's got it.
If I need to I'll go through YearOne, though I'd prefer somewhere
a little closer (around the Marietta/Roswell area)

Cool, I'd like to see what you did with your dash. I'm in Marietta too right off the square, you couldn't tell me where they sell SEM could ya?

I read a post on nasioc but there weren't pics of the bumper black in that thread, but i think it is worth mentioning that the poster stated trhat the SEM paint was good about UV exposure and warmer temps on a car dash.

I will shoot some pics on Wed...

SEM is professional grade paint in a rattle can. Not everything SEM sells comes in a can, but most of the dyes and interior items do.

Are you wanting flat black, or something with a little shine? Do you want smooth or any texture?

Any autobody supply place will carry SEM.

    Thanks for all those leads!

I am looking for a low sheen or flat color for the dash. That is as close of a color match to the dashboard as I can get out of a spray can without mixing and using something like a spray gun.

Well you can also use Duplicolor paints as well. Much easier to find and cheaper than SEM. For interior plastic, Duplicolor is just fine.

I used Duplicolor Trim Paint on my interior. Almost a flat black with a nice OEM texture to it. I would also recommend high build primer and adhesion promoter. Getting professional results is not to hard if you know what you are doing, and I would be happy to help anyone with their needs.

Wow it looks like you got nice results from what I can tell form the pictures.

I picked up a can of SEM bumper trim paint and adhesion promoter yesterday, but I'm waiting on the maddad gauges I want. Apparently Maddad's still working out issues with the LED tint for the sti style gauges and they'll be ready in June or July.

I used the bumber trim black, and it was a bit glossier than I wanted but other than that the paint job looks great.

I'm still waiting on the new maddad clarity v2 ti's so I'll be wating until June or juuly to install the pod.

I am probably going to go ahead and buy a single a piller pod and go ahead and paint it to match.

When I'm done with the other pod I'll be glad to share teh rest of the can of sem plastic adhesion promotor and bumper trim paint with anyone else who wants to paint something.
