Hi there, newbie here in terms of audio stuff. I need something a little more pleasant and crisp to listen to while driving. Don't need anything super loud. Do you guys have any recommendations for what needs to be done? I currently have the stock 6 disc changer and stock speakers. I have heard that I may not need to change the stock headunit but just upgrade speakers and it should be good. I have also heard that I need to decrease noise reduction (not sure how to). I currently have a maddad turboback (so slightly louder that normal in car). Do you guys have any recommendations for what I need and where to go to get this done? Please advise.
my friend Tony is really good, he can tell you exactly what you will need http://www.trendsettingmotorsllc.com/, let me know if you need more help
Some dynomat and a good set of coaxials should do you fine on the stock headunit. If you are really into fidelity and accurate sound reproduction your pocket will have to be a bit larger. It all really depends on what you're looking for. IMO, if you arent concerned with $, i would upgrade the radio, do a nice 4channel amp, a decent set of components up front and coaxials in the rear.
Thanks Thanks for your quick response. I am assuming you do this for a living and can quote me on pricing. I sent you a PM about this as well. Would you be able to break out pricing in a PM back to me? Dynomat - Labor and materials cost Coaxials - Labor and materials cost 4 channel amp, components and coaxials - Labor and materials cost I am leaning towards just the dynomat and coaxials if that is the most cost efficient way to do this and most bang for buck but willing to spend more if the increased quality is worth it. Definitely open to ideas. Send me a PM. thanks!
If ghost can't help you maybe slade can help? I used the stock headunit in my WRX with a navone LOC and a JL 4 channel amp with aftermarket speakers in the front and a sub in the back. Sounded great. SOmething like that is a weekend project if youw ant to try and DIY. You can throw on some sound deadening when you have the panels off to replace the speakers.
We spoke early on but never could quite connect and I tried calling the last 2 weeks and left a VM but no response.. Maybe he is busy..
Must be Ben.... feel free to give me a shout; I'm sure I can get you going in the right direction. PM sent with phone number.
