I'm looking for brand new springs for my sti. Im currently running pro drives. I want it lower, with minimal wheel gap. Not really interested in coilovers and my factory struts are in great shape. I know tanabe lowers it pretty damn good, but what other choices would anyone recommend. I don't want the most ruff ride, but I've decided to get rid of my wheel gap.
Also, ill always be running 235/45/17 tires. Bridgestone or Michelins (if this helps by knowing my tire size).
Just my opinion... but what your asking can't be done. My WRX (on Whiteline Agressives) and my STI (RCE Yellows) looked great... but they where both teeth breakers. You can either lower it a little bit and have a decent ride with prodrives or STI pinks, or get the gap out and crash over pebbles, not both.
I agree with SonicBoom, if you go lower on the stock struts I think you will just end up riding deeper into the bump stops. My car came with cobb lowering springs when I bought it, and its sits even lower than RCE yellows, even a bit lower than my tarmac 2 coilovers. However, without any of the nice ride of the tarmac's or the yellows
I'd send the struts to FEAL Suspension and have them rebuilt with better valving and shim stack then buy a set of their Swift springs with the correct spring rate for the intended ride height.
Sonicboom, that's random/interesting to know. Know any springs that would drop it more than the prodrives?
All of the ones listed so far will drop more than prodrives (Whiteline, RCE Yellow, Swift....)... Just not without consequences. B Reels suggestion sounds like a good idea.
