These were a HUGE improvement over the stock twigs that came out of the Saabaru trust me these were actually thinner than stock wrx sways (Saab toned some of the stock Subaru WRX suspension for a less stiffer ride) When we first took off on the mtn run today I had to get use to them do to the cars new go-kart like tendencies!! But once I got the feeling of them the car had almost absolutely no understeer it goes exactly where I point it. There was a couple of problems with the new sways 1. The FSB is so much bigger that the stocks that the bar actually sits on part of the exhaust shied for a annoying rattling sound. I tried to quiet it up a bit by wrapping exhaust wrap around it. It did quiet it down a it but It can still be heard and felt on the inside of the car. I'm going to get about 2ins of the heat shield so the sway sits and moves around freely hopefully correcting the problem. 2. The rears are clanking against the exhaust piping in the rear when the springs are really compressed but I can get use to that. Later on I will try to dial that down as well The sways are also adjustable so I will play with the adjustments a little later on. I cant believe how good the car handles with the minimal adjustments set so I could get use to the sways!
yup! Move that rear to one of the last two and you'l get a more tail happy car. I've got mine on the medium setting which still understeers a bit but it's significantly more neutral than how i had it.
I am surprised to hear about those fitment issues, do you happen to have any pics? I had issues with mine but that's only because I'm NA, and I have a straight pipe where you guys have an UP/DP. I thought on the turbo that these bars shouldn't come anywhere close to exhaust parts? I have a whiteline 27mm FSB (made for STi) on my car (which is NOT an STI) and it is millimeters away from the exhaust header. I didn't have the bushings that came with the bar because I got the bar used, so I cut some stock bushings with a hole saw. At first I cut the holes poorly and the bar sat directly on the header and made AWFUL noise. So I got some more bushing and made the hole slightly off center to make the bar sit higher up off the header, and now it only occasionally makes noise on start-up. If your noise in the front gets too bad you might be able to solve it with a similar method, depending on how the exhaust pipe is set up relative to the bar.
