turning at like 10mph is it safe to drive with broken endlink ?? at least until I get to SOG tomorow?
Cause Matt is a genius....lol Your suspension is under it's greatest binding load when the wheels are angle like when turning into a driveway. Instead of loading up and down it is loading to the side thus binding the endlinks and snapping them if they are weak.
I wonder if thats what happen to the bearings on my Whiteline endlinks? I do have a mini mountain for a driveway :eek4:
I'd get in touch with Whiteline... they stand behind their products very well... so this could be out of a bad batch and got missed by their QC department.
Is this a problem across the board with these style endlinks or just the Whitelines? I can see just from the design and what they're replacing that they just aren't going to have the compliance for extreme suspension travel any more. I was planning on going with the ixiz like Delette was, so I'm wondering if there are some design points to be considered when going with endlinks. ^^^^^^^^^ Trying to get a good tech discussion going out of this.
is the whiteline heavy duty endlink the same as the steel endlink? (i'm going by boxer4racing.com's website)
I've lost a bolt doing something similar. Either it snapped or it just fell out, I dunno. Just be careful driving.
lots of load in low speed manuevers like that, thats usally where they break. I've never heard of one failing on track but they fail during autoxs all the time....you know SLOW turns.
IxizElink temp halt but not for long due to a couple of restrictions on my part. The design is complete, prototype already made started a project on the Honda so thats why the $$ is tight and have to wait till the $ bal out Ixizelink will bend your bars or the ears before you break it it wont have the klunk or squek issue it is designed so it will fit both the sedan and the wagon still not sure on the STi's will be priced less than anything on the market
LOL, I'm just playing don't get you're...wait that sounds sexist.....errr....so does that.....never mind.
what's so heavy duty about them if they break? did the bearing break or did the actual link itself snap? Maybe time to get kartboys and suffer a bit with the ployurthane bushings
