For the past 3 oil changes i have had to add anywhere from 1-3 quarts of oil about 1,000 miles before my next due oil change...i don't leave oil spots on the road, no signs of leaks anywhere under the car?? where is/could it be going?? Thanks for any of your input..

well turbos do consume oil sometimes. I have to add a quart or so every 2K miles since i put my vf22 in. I asked scott and he said it was normal.

Oil consumption also varies due to how hard you drive your car. I burn a quart in the first 1000 miles after an oil change, then nothing for 2000 miles.

Did you notice the loss when you switched oil brands or when you switched from dyno to synthetic?

I have only run synthetic oil since i bought the car in 2003, just recently i started burning this much oil. I asked few people and they said burning oil can/should be normal but this much oil?? I dunno i think i have underlying problem just don't know where to begin...maybe the turbo is going bad?? should i drop the downpipe and check that out?

    Any ideas guys??

Did it start burning oil when you switched from motuhl to royal purple? Switch back and see if slows the oil consumption. Just as long as you stay on top of it, It shouldn't hurt anything.

how many miles do you have on your car? if you're really worried about it, it won't hurt anything to drop the downpipe and check it out. I switched from mobile 1 to castrol for an oil change to see if my oil consumption would change. it burned less than half a quart for the full 2800-3000 miles it was in there. I switched back to mobile 1 synthetic strictly because I get it free at work;)

change ur oil go to castrol gt or the synthetic one and see any difference, btw for a day i would drive or keep the car on for abt 1/2 hour to 1 hour then take a white sheet anbd put it under drive way and park the car over to see any slow leaks or any downside leakz cause it seems u maybe have blown something inside to throw out alot of oil.. try it and see if it dont have a small leak or a big one then u donthave to worry
