i just bought a 04 wrx wagon. well i took it on a 5 mile test drive getting on it and what not to see if anything would show it self and everything seemed good. well i bought it drove for 3 hours not contious and then it started at lowspeed in 1st or reverse while turning the front wheels pop hard its not axles its wierd you can feel it hard in the whole car. then after a hour of constant driving i now have a loud whine/ hum while rolling over 15 mph with the car in gear or out of gear. any ideas of what this might be? im new to suby's and im a tech but have never experienced this before.
Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8330/4.5.0.77 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105) First question - is the car bone stock?
This kind of sounds like a blown center diff. I know thats one characteristic symptom. My Forester used to do this after two years of just replacing two tires at a time. :unamused::hsnono: I just didn't know at the time. Have you checked to see if the tires all around the car match brand, size, and tread depth (approximately, anyway)?
Take it to Stephen at Subaru of Kennesaw. He's straight shooter and knows his shit. Do it ASAP before it breaks (worse).
i took it to him. it needs a new front diff and trans over haul due to aftermarket axels. awaiting a call from the car lot about what they are going to do.
I bought a piece of s**t jeep grand cherokee from them years ago. The transmission died a week after I bought the car. Good luck getting it covered. They were aholes to me.
well one of my friends family is filing a law suit against them because they just started talking about their credit report and what not to customers. so they have been kissing our a$$
oh trust me i will be at the lot first thing in the morning. i have talked to the owner 3 other times so i will get something done one way or another. they asked if i wanted to swap cars. they keep tempting me with a built srt4 but i like the wagon.
why, so they can give you another busted ass car? And then turn around and sell the wagon (still broken) to some other unsuspecting customer? They sound like great people there! :unamused::unamused:
See if they will give you the equivalent $ for a 5sp drive train take that $ and spend some of your own and swap in a 6sp. Might as well do it now if you plan on keeping and modifying the car. It is inevitable anyway unless you are planning on keeping bone stock.
