Will a cat related CEL effect performance?

I'm about to put on an invidia catless down-pipe...

I know that there's a possibility of throwing a cat efficiency code, but if it does...does that effect performance in any way? I have a reflashed ecu using enginuity. But I didn't have a downpipe at the time so there was no correction done (acceptable cat efficiency threshold) to prevent a CEL code from being thrown. I don't plan on doing any kind of spark plug defowlers or any other fix unless the code is going to inhibit performance. If the code is harmless in that regard, I will put up with the annoying light till i can get it fixed in the ECU...as well as a slight tweak in fuel and timing for the dp :)

also anyone else running an invidia divorced wastegate dp? better or worse than standard bellmouth?

Don't quote me on this, but IF I remember correctly it won't initially.
If you drive around with it for too long, it will cause your ecu to going into a limp mode.

**Again, not sure of this at all, just something I think I remember reading**

Maybe WJM or SS will chime in on this?

  5. It depends on how Subaru does there programming of the ecu..most other vehicles should run normal since it is a post cat. code.

SS claims bellmouth is better at preventing boost creep, although I never saw any problems with my Stromung.

Buy the $20 cell fix and don't worrying wether or not it will make a difference.

the wiring fix ...or the spark plug defoulers....and does anyone know the thread size of the post cat o2 sensor on an 06 so i can get the right thread size defoulers?

I just used the wiring fix. It was an incredibly easy install. Just remove O2 sensor with adjustable wrench, splice in the resistor, electrical tape the connections, and re-install.

doesn't this fix cause an interupt on the signal going to and from the 02 sensor, which means the emmisions will still fail even though the CEL is off.

The defoulers are part #'s 42002 and 42009 (I think, though the last one may be 42006).

Hmmm. My CEL has been on since I installed all that stuff like 2-3 wks ago.
Haven't really noticed anything negative besides that annoying fawkin amber light in my guage cluster.

Should I do this "fix" until I get my AP?

i went ahead and did the fix...no CEL...i have an 06 and i also only used one of the defoulers.

i've been tuned, but it's only a reflash so i'm not sure whether it helped in keeping the CEL away...maybe it is just the spark plug defouler.
