umm.. I was driving home from work, i have about 600 miles on my motor since the seller took the utec off and my car is acting different. Now it seems like it boosts twice as fast and not as much vaccume (sp). why would this happen?
What mods do you have? Has the ecu tuned been tuned/flashed by any means since the removal of the UTEC?
Do NOT push your car until you get it tuned or soon you will be looking for a new block. You have quite a bit of mods and there is no way the ecu can compensate for them. .
yes, have THE SIEGEL put his magic hands on it with some engine management, and you should be good to go.
Are they modified? The reason I ask is the sr40 is too big of a turbo to run on the stock wrx injectors. ( this is based on the assumption that from your nic that your car is an 04 wrx )
I would run a line from the compressor cover straight to the wastegate bypassing the stock boost controller until I could get a tune. I think the wastegate spring in the sr40 is only a 10 psi spring. This should give you a little safety from accidentally over boosting.
it has a tee on it that goes to a turbo xs boost something.. doesn't look like a controller, but it has a + - and its all the way -
That just helps the stock boost controller bleed off a little more. It should be t'd to the stock boost controller too.
You are running about stock boost levels just with a bigger than stock turbo. not as bad as when you get the bill for the 2.5 swap
