that is pretty but I wonder if it will ever run? Isnt this Dmoney's car? He has been working on it forever.
See the thing is with most tuner cars with this much money in them, the exterior is normally wayyyyyyyy overdone. I love it, exterior is simple enough minus maybe the skirts and front bumper combo. If you saw this car on the street, your first impression would be clean well done scoobie, not a outrageous tuner creation. Im not a huge fan of the wheel color either, but hey...atleast they are not a set of those attrocious advan racing split 3 spoke wheels(whatever they are called).
Would have been cool to see a stock looking Exterior and then, BAM!! Perfect Engine bay catches you off guard.
Spend some time looking through this thread if you want more JDM http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=916054&page=52
They are called invisible belts Matt. Brought to you by the same idiots that created the invisible ride. Old but still funny: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lEEc8CC4rg
I like the way the exterior works but I never understood why you care what the engine looks like. Also lawl at the endless brakes. Those are so expensive and haven't performed well in the tests I've seen of them
And who said it was supposed to look like outrageous tuner creation. I don't see how can anyone put any negativity on this car, thing of beauty.
you guys are idiots...did you even read the thread? He drove the car to a car show and took the belts off for the show. From what I read, the car runs, it's just not up to it's full potential. From someone who spent wwwaaayyyy to much trying to clean up the ugliest engine bay in any car out there, I've got nothing but mad respect for that guy and how that engine bay looks. I'm not a fan of bling and chrome, but that's just sick
You are the idiot if you think the pic of the engine compartment above was when the car was running. There are a few clues including radiator not completely plumbed, no fluid in the brake or clutch cylinders, and of course no belts. Like you I have all the respect in the world for this guy.
D money, wayne, tino, etc all run a clean ship over there on Nabisco. They're all creating some seriously amazing projects. I wish we all had more JDM clout on this side of the country but it just isn't the case, haha.
"haha! We can race, i'll have it running next week." "The car weighs 2900lbs and will make 700whp without any issues." Just for lazy people. And to clear things up, the car have not ran yet. From nasioc: "Yup, that car was a bitch to get on the trailer. I can't wait until I can turn the key and drive away"
Not my cup of tea. It's too clean. If you want a show car, buy something more exotic. Subarus need to be driven, not just look pretty. I don't like the skirts, front lip,too slammed, and no wing. I like my subarus with spoilers, be it wrx, sti, or s20X.
Beautiful car and in person it's immaculate. D Money spent a lot of time on this car. And you should look under it....EVERYTHING is powdercoated and all. I cringe to think of the sand blasting that will happen under that car over time. But this is what drives D Money. He may be a douche but his car is well done and clean although not my cup o tea. With the money he has spent in that car, I'd just rather drive to Topspeed and fork over the money for Pepper who would maul that car any day. Different strokes for different folks but that car does demand respect and has it from me.
In my opinion this car is a prime example of what good contacts can do for you. The reason why the car is cool IMO is logistics. I don't personally care for the looks but I appreciate the effort that has gone into his project. I marvel at the logistics even more so -- D money has some damn good contacts in Japan to get what he has on his car. Good luck finding half of what's on there, especially that discontinued JUN bumper
the constant uplifting of something cause it's "JDM" is annoying. anytime I hear someone start spouting off "JDM this" and "JDM that" I immediately tune them out for fear of catching their strain of stupidity.
I agree, just because it's "MaD tyTe JdM yO!", doesn't make it the best. If something is an excellent product, it's excellent whether it's made in japan, the usa, europe, or wherever it's made.
I completely agree with that. You can have an appreciation for the rarity of the part; however, it doesn't exactly make the car any better or worse. But its a different level here as we're not talking about "JDM air fresheners". At one point JDM, CSL, EDM, whatever you want, indicated some level of rarity. It isn't about the origin of production, its about the effort it took to get the part you wanted. It is neat when you have parts that no one else can really get their hands on. Ultimately, it's just another pissing contest
I agree I respect hard parts to find, as well as well made parts. It's just too common anymore that just because it came from japan it's better than anything even if god made it himself. This is especially true when it comes to vehicles for sale, the owner automatically thinks the car's value has tripled because it has japanese parts.
I concur. JDM is just rash over-generalization for sometimes, or frequently in most cases, average parts. But hey, everyone wants to feel important
