I've seen at least a half dozen WRX owners the past few days, and try to acknowledge their presence / wave / whatever. Inevitably, they do the stare-straight-ahead-and-pretend-like-I-don't-see thing. I was next to not one, but TWO WRXs yesterday at a light, and they didn't even look over. Nobody from this gang, but you'd think fellow WRXers would be a little friendlier...
Yeah, I've experienced this alot. Unfortunately, WRXs (all Imprezas actually) are not as rare as they use to be. They've...dare I say...become mainstream. I still remember the days though when only enthusiasts drove Imprezas.
yeah i find myself left hanging at least a few times a week. the upside = makes subaru a more viable and sustainable company state-side. the downside = any dipshit will drive one. :ugh:
There is someone running around here with 18"+ blinging chromies on his/her WRX. They never wave....Moose, I am still amazed that I haven't seen you yet running around here. Living in Loganville, working in Lawrenceville, you woul dhave thought I woul dhave spotted everyone at least once by now....
Well, with the VF34 in it's so mad fast now that you probably won't spot it before I'm long gone.
You must get back home before you leave, sometimes....what's it like meeting yourself 20 minutes into the future?
i never get spotted either. There are a lot of wrxs in my area and i passed a new one yesterday nicely modded. This one sti i thought would never wave and what not because i saw him 3 times but only briefly. Then finally i passed him 2 days straight last week and he waved both times. Maybee sometimes the people just dont see ya?
i saw the ass end of your car on my desktop earlier. i have the images from the last mnt. run rotating every 10 min. :naughty:
Me too...i live on Sugarloaf :ugh: Did see a silver bugeye Saturday by SOG...i think it had an STI wing....he was driving like he stole it...almost ran into the back of me....i was like WTF.....there was crazy traffic too.... :hsnono:
I wave all the time, and 90% of the time I'll get a wave back. I believe this has to do with me living on the southside, because there are less subies down here, and the ones that are around are usually enthusiasts.
C'est le vie. The only owners I ever see are the sames ones I ever see. I have no problem with that either, I'm always in good company.
If you guys drive slower maybe they will see you. Well the more WRX the better , thats how i look at it. One day when i get one and if things starts to break on me I know there are parts in the junkyard i can get and make it work. Or maybe park mine next to a nicer one and accidentally drive away thinking its mine.
i still need a ride... by the way there was a red bugeye with a clemson flag on it parked in my deck last weekend... i left him a card... then later on he parked right by me... dunno if he signed up or not
I have mostly given up on waving unless it’s the folks I know from here. I get these looks that I feel are like ‘who is that troll?’. Plus I see many being near SoG during the day. I’m probably just waving at the service tech’s anyway so I don’t post sightings.
Here is a little tip I learned from riding motorcycles for the past 25 years. Most bikers usually acknowledge each other. When the Harley trend started back in the late 80's I was happy to see more bikes on the road, however, when I would wave I wouldn't get a response from the Harley groups. I ride Japanese bikes for the most part. So being the smartarse that I am, I tried a little visual experiment. I would first wave, if I would get no response I would simply drop 3 fingers and a thumb while continuing my wave. I found that in doing this I would receive numerous and varied responses from 100% of the bikes I passed. Funny how most people "can't see" four fingers and a thumb but can make out a single digit at speed!
yeah i saw girl driving an 04 sti, maybe silver.. but i waved and got this dirty look back. i had my girlfriend in the car also, so it wasnt like i was trying to pick her up. And also i hate the people who look at me strange when i wave at them, i mean if someone waves at you just in general dont you usually wave back.. you would think they put two and two together.. both got subys, and im waving to you, come on. also i remember having my wrangler, with that "its a jeep thing" and waving at everyone. i guess i got so use to that, thought it would be similiar with wrx's. __________________
