Ok, here's the deal. I just bought a used Injen CAI from a member on this forum. I followed all of the directions and installed it correctly, from what I can understand. This didn't take me very long. It looks great. However, I'm having a really serious issue as a result of installing this item! For some reason my overall MPG has drastically decreased! :grr: WTF! It's like my car is an SUV now with how quickly my gas is running out. Oh, wait... I'm flooring the pedal a lot more now... Dhur. :naughty: Thanks, ZenMonk, I appreciate the great Injen CAI. It's a sexy black-coated CAI and it looks great in the engine bay. Installation was easy - I did need the WD40 as you mentioned. Overall, the SOTP feels awesome! I can feel a greater pull from acceleration now, shifts feel crisper and have less bogging. I definately recommend this mod. :sx: Respectfully, Jesse
glad you like it bro...it was so random that I saw you at Shell on the way to Drift Atlanta....and was like "have you heard of wrxatlanta".... kinda interested in seeing my intake, only in black.....
i think the biggest change i noticed with the intake was the sound... i doubt it does anything for shifting but a nice sound does make the entire car feel 'nicer' glad ur happy with the mod :bigthumb:
Well, I don't mean the shifting as far as the transmission/shifter is concerned. I mean in regards to the acceleration of the car while shifting. Before I had the CAI it seemed the car was starving for air and would bog-down slightly. You could feel it after entering the next gear, just before the turbo kicked in, etc. Now, I don't notice the vehicle bog down anymore after shifting. I shift and it goes. It's not a horrible bog, just a slight one. Annoying, never-the-less. Bwahahaha, yeah, I was walkin' to my car and just stopped. I just sat there as you drove in the Shell; almost like I was waitin' for ya to pull in. Mad Subie love. How was it at Drift Atlanta?
Drift Atlanta was great!!!! wish the suby drifter was there, but just hangin with the guys made up for the missing entry....got a lot of great advice and learned a bunch....as always...
lol at first i though your afr was all fucked up before i read the whole post  glad you like it dude. lots of people really dig the injens, it was just too loud for my ears
yea an CAI makes the car sound a lot better. wait till you do exhaust and EM. you will really start to feel a gain in acceleration then
Good deal mang. Glad you got the hook up. I was SO glad I went to Drift Atlanta. Anyone who says it's not a true motorsport must not have ever been to one because not only was the drifting cool to watch, but so were the Panoz and Formula Ford events. (The F F's are even faster than I thought they would be) The car show was all right and booth babes were definitely a nice touch. All in all it was great.
