gift cards are always a big help..some what impersonal i know, but if you already have something meaningful for him you can throw a few in a xmas card...like starbucks, itunes, publix, subway....places he frequents..etc..

That's awesome, any guy (who doesn't love ding-dong) should love the hell out of that. I have a giant chest thing on wheels that holds all my tools (don't have a toolbox yet), it looks kinda like a big suitcase with a pullout handle so you can roll it around. That plus gift cards to stock it would also be a good gift.
