it's likely a dealer installed package, not factory installed. Even port installed would have had the OEM wheels on the car and then swapped out...
working on my second summer and my car lives outside. not a single issue from the device.
FYI, take off wheels, regardless of if they're still in the box or not, typically go for about $200 at most. :)
