    Subaru transmission options suck...

    I sort of looked into that but from what I found they weren't very reliable and end up being as expensive as a ppg gearset.

    I was told the same. With that in mind the search has been narrowed down to an 07 STi transmission or a transmission from a 2007 STi. Oh well....

    Definately do the rods while you have it apart. They will become the weakest link no matter what pistons you go with.

    I'd use the sti heads but ditch the cams and get GSCs. Leave all the avcs stuff hooked up. You just won't have any ecu control over the advance.
