To fix Alt+S in FireFox 2.x+: Open up a new Window/Tab and type “about:config” in the address bar. In the Filter bar type: “ui.key.contentAccess”...

I use alt+S when I can. In FF, you have to go into the config settings and change a parameter for it to work. In chrome, it's there by default.
