2008 Subaru Impreza WRC Pix

I just got back from Franfurt, Germany. (i wish~) Since Subaru said that longer wheel base with shorter overhang will benefit their WRC racing, let's see what this new bastard can do!! I'm also hoping that new STI will incorporate many WRC technology even more this year!!

 

No fog lights?!?

The WRC version looks alright. I'm still worried about the STi...

 

wow that's some serious bling for tail lights.

 

looks good, but in full WRC trim anything looks good.

 

I dunno... that certainly wouldn't apply to brett's mom oppps i mean brent's mom ;P

 

Every time I see WRC stuff it makes me hate Nascar channel (speed). Those are some really nice pictures though. I bet your trip was awesome.

 

It looks kind of like a shoe but I like it.

 

I still don't like it, even in WRC Trim.

They are pretty damn huge.

However, I disagree with this so hard that it makes my head hurt.

 

i like how the widebody looks, but aside from that i maintain the side profile shape looks like ass and a half.

I just rode around in my friend's 08 wrx WRB. It's not growing on me like the 06-07 did, i just find more stuff i dont like. The midrange response was improved from what i could tell on the highway pull, but top end was non-existant, felt sluggish. It doesn't have as much body roll. The interior looks pretty nice, i had enough leg room in the back at 6'3". The hatch space was ridiculously tiny without folding the seat though. I'd say if you were looking at buying one, you'd be an idiot for not springing for a 05-06 STI.

Im sure the 4 lug has something to do with changing the wheels quickly during racing.

 

After i posted it that i stop to think and thought the same thing. posting before thinking helping post cont for years..

 

I belive all the WRC cars are 4 lug

so if the WRC trim is just okay, i would imagine the new STi would suffer a bit from image problemes

I love the fact that it's a wagon and all; but other than the widebody kit and the integrated hood scoop - just not digging it at all - WAY too ford/mazda looking...

AS I have been saying I like the car.

 

Those are some beefy flares...

 

look at those brake calipers up front.....

 

With the black grill they'ev been using on the WRX's and a replacement of the taillights and without the hideous chrome bar across the back - it actually looks pretty good. As mentioned before, the flares are agressive as hell! It's amazing how much better the car looks w/o all the obnoxious chrome on it... I love chrome as much as the next guy; on the right car...

On a classic muscle car, it looks great; on imports - it looks ricer unless it's done right... :wiggle:

I was the same way until I saw pictures of it with the better grill - it's amazing how something as simple that can make it appear that much better looking...

With some revised taillights, grill, headlights, etc - the car looks a little less Mazda-ish...

 

I'm all over it. All that car needs is the WRC wing and its over.

 

I think it needs the roof vent

 

Hell yeah I like it! Tint the tails and get rid of any chrome. Hopefully the widebody fenders stay! It's aggressive looking and I likey!

I like it too. But why, why, why could they not put these fenders on the WRX???!!! Well the 5-door. The sedan needs them too.

Finally the wagon gets the fender flares and the sedan doesn't! *raises fist high* :ddirty: Power to the wagon!

 

It's a hatchback, not a wagon.

The sti looks much better than the wrx. The fender flares, and the general more aggresive look of the body are a big plus. But i still think that the overall design is not very well put together, and the ricey exhaust tips and taillights are awful.

 

Actually - to argue semantics - it IS a Wagon... A hatchback is a 2 door... As much as I'd love to legitimately call it a hatchback, sadly, it's not... A CRX is a hatchback, an Integra is a hatchback... This - is a wagon.

As much as I'd love to call MY wagon a hatchback; i'd be lieing

And yeah - the car definitely needs some rice reduction...
