Again I ask how in the world do you take the circles off the air vents? I haven't tried but after seeing my buddy break his I am scared to try.
yeah you know, the grippy type of finish they put on the interior handles and dash? EDIT: here's the quicksteer stuff... As summer rolls around, I'm considering smaller "fun" mods to do. A full spec-c esque black interior is on my mind like you wouldnt believe. As Ive mentioned, I want to complete the s202 dash, and I feel that starting from the ground up is appropriate. Literally, the ground up. I'm considering a WRX carpet swap (black), who knows. If anything, it will just be something different. Also, at some point, I will be ordering the black TS/TR mirror skins. Think you want to help? http://www.wrxatlanta.com/forums/showthread.php?p=75384#post75384
Bad link. Here ya go. http://www.tarmac-usa.com Or https://secure.wholebraintech.com/tarmac-usa/flash/index.html
Sneak peak at what's to come... Dynomatting during carpet swap (expect to add <5lbs), Considering the uk spec lower grille, Considering moving to a new head unit all together in the audio revamp Rear cargo net for small things that like to float around in the trunk (shoes, etc) Should be wrapping the vf39 and the dp as soon as the semester is out as well.
Great man. I bet the Dynamatting will cut out a lot of the noise from exhaust and road noise! How much of the Dynamatting will you have to have? I may just do that myself bc with my hearing it takes a lot out of me (hearing impaired people like myself get headaches from straining to hear others or that loud audio system).
I'm planning on using 2 small sheets of dynomatt extreme. It wont be necessary to compeltely cover the floor, just need strips here and there to absorb sounds/vibrations. Theres about 2 lbs used in the photo I posted. I would also like to the doors and speakers to improve the overal sound quality in the car when the windows are up. Ultimately, I would like to have city daily driving comfort when the windows are up, and when I roll the windows down I want to hear the awesomeness. Ill be sure to have a writeup ready when I complete mine.
Sounds like some nice plans. Let me know when you're ready to get the Dynamat and we'll go in on a bulk pack and you can just get what you need from it.
I did the entire car with RAAMmat. 9/10 the performance of Dynamat at half the price. http://www.raamaudio.com/ http://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com/
Awesome, I'll consider it. Moose and I have found some pretty sweet deals on dynamat xtreme lately though. Time will tell.
Yeah I want to do it as well. I need to somehow secure my car pc in the trunk...it slides around and that can't be too good for that HD...lol
I took mine off when putting the gauge in there. I don't think they are that easy to break... (maybe i just got lucky) haha. I stuck in a screw driver in the side and lifted it up little bit and pulled it out. I believe there are two tabs on the vent circle... and IIRC they are on the sides... 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock position. I stuck in a screw driver in the 3 o'clock position and pulled it until i can stick my finger in the gap and pulled it out... hope this helps
2 brief updates: It seems like my pass. front speaker is blown as of friday evening. Back to the drawing board (and idea table). This actually gives me an excuse to change out the front setup entirely, so it could work out in the end. Secondly, the screen's Cobb uses for their AP are on extreme backorder. Virtually all AP units are frozen until then. Ive been told to expect 2-3 more weeks; however, my unit will be on the first shipment out!
Well ladies and gents, here we are. I may or may not paint the blue portion directly behind the grille. Time shall tell. Without further ado...
nice, you can't even tell where the emblem was. maybe it's because they are close up pics, but i would paint the blue thing black. but i would have to see it in person to make a better judgement. is it really that noticeable when looking at the car?
Yeah, it is considerably more noticable than in the photos I'll prob do that once I get the hellas and flat black them as well. I'll make a stab at making the UK lower grille insert as well sometime soon too.
Well its been a few days since the last update, but I suppose I should spill the beans on a few plans up and coming. Picked up the AP on Monday from SS, flashed it Wed. evening with Joe. We were pulled over no more than 30 minutes later , but that's a whole nother story I suppose. I should be picking up a new clutch here soon, HKS TT is going in, hellas are own their way, STi SS is going in, BAM! JDM ported vf39 complete with blanket is going in, wrapping the dp as well to boot. Oh, yeah, wheels. I will prob. be picking up a set of rota torques here in a minute, 17 x 8 bronze. Also, I will be giving the HPS the boot and moving to a new street pad as well as a dedicated track pad (xp9 ?). While I was at Tally this week, spent a good bit of time in Sanders' STi. Why? We now have identical suspension setups: JICs 7/5, Whiteline 27-29 front and 22-24-26 rear, similar bushing setup, etc. DAMN! I have yet to take my car out to the track on this setup, but holly moly, did his car stick. More to come, pictures and all that jazz soon.
nice stuff!!! where did you get a JDM turbo?...is there a difference between the two?....obviously this one is ported.....j/w?
looking real good man ya'll were speaking of sound deadening earlier... http://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com it is TOTALLY worth the read, before you go out and save too much money on something cheaper than what you need(and then spend 2x as much fixing the problem properly). on thing's for sure, do NOT use asphalt in GA, especially if you go to the track.
Its not JDM, its my old vf39 actually. Will just has me saying Bam! JDM lately. Sorry for the confusion
Couple things: clutch should be here next week (if not tomorrow) along with the hellas, tint will be happening shortly and there is one more thing, but that's a big ol' surprise :naughty:
Those are lug nuts, man I thought you were a car guy. Atleast you dont drive like a girl. I'm sorry I couldnt help it.
Speaking of those lugs, I actually cant find them anymore. I'm fairly positive Zenki doesnt make the forged alum. ones in bronze.
Here are some gold ones, a little bit under $100. http://subydude.com/osc/product_inf...id/43?osCsid=6a78a229fbebd78b3c988761d23908f3 Or the gold zenkis-- http://www.camp1320.com/products_go2.cfm?id=200
Alex has the Invidia N1 racing exhaust which has a resonator and a flex section. Just letting you know 'cuz I don't remember if you said you wanted the regular N1 or N1 racing. It will make a difference in sound with and w/o resonator. IMO, I love the way the exhaust sits right under the bumper and how the canister is actually angled upwards towards the tip so it looks bad ass. The only downpipe to me is... the canister is too small = not enough bling bling lol ;P
give me your w? what's w? anyways, let's install your horns... I wanna paint mine when doing yours I think we might be installing Andy's inlet hose also but not sure on that since I can't bend over to get to the engine bay... my back isn't 100% charged up yet haha
