Yeah the porsche club needs to get their registration process alittle more streamlined. The course wasen't all that exciting, but i got to autox so can't complain. My only BIG complaint is that they let cars fully prepared track cars run with no sound limitations. I worked sound and sited one car every run he had at 97 decibals or higher (three at 98), and this car was driven by three different drivers. I issued the warnings to the timing station and no cars got disqualified. That car was not the loudest car there either. While i like having another event to go to, I know SCCA will get blamed for any complaints this weekend (which i am sure there will be). I don't want SCCA to lose the use the fairgrounds just because PCA doesn't feel like telling their members with fully prepared track cars to leave. Just my 2cents.
Nice to see everyone out there today!! ......... turned out to be fun after all. The 2-lap per run setup was actually kinda fun. (me also thinks it is REALLY time to get a new set of tires)
on a happier note, it was good to see everyone out there. I finally met Sara, the yellow evo girl, she looked great out there; too bad she couldn't put her victoracers on, she would have totally kick my butt! It's always nice seeing the pantera in action, next time we need to get the h2 out there. Wayne was looking good too! Hope to see everyone at the Champion of Champions event in december!
Good to see everyone out there. I thought it was quite an interesting course, besides my first run when I tried to do 3 laps instead of finishing the 2nd. -- Brian
Interesting yes......... Although hitting Warp9 on the back was fun, a slalom somethere in that "section" would have been nice. (and that $&$*!%@# U-Turn AHHHHHHH). Did anyone take a look at their speedo on that area? I would have thought some were at 60-70+............ Bob
I really shouldn't let myself post after being awake for 30 hours. In retrospect, it was a pretty fun course.
I didn't think that it was that bad. It was a bit scary on the back section. I was getting close to redline in 2nd on it, and had to lift a bit to avoid going too fast. -- Brian
Yeah, I agree. I was braking right at 7000rpm in second on that long sweeper so I had to have been going around 60mph. I wish I could've avoided clipping two cones on each of my last two runs. I would have been in the 1:41-1:42 range. Oh, and I love your Evo Brian. Even if it sounds like a vacuum cleaner . Hope to see everyone at the next event.
 I think my exhaust sucked up a few cones on the last run I hope to see you guys at the CoC event. I am probably going to drive Mere's car, as I want to try out the Victoracers. If anyone is researching street tires, I really liked how the Yoko ADVAN Neova AD07 tires performed out there. They seemed better than the stock evo ADVAN A046 tires that I used the weekend before. They seemed to have more grip, and were more forgiving. -- Brian
BTW, here were the times posted on the evo board: I doubt that PCA will ever post them on their website, as they didn't post the previous event times yet. We need to have more evo vs sti/wrx autocross events. -- Brian
Hahaha, I'm the 'heavily modded STi' Thought I'd come check the board after you mentioned you're on here. It really only has exhaust, engine mgt, cusco coilovers, and swaybars - although I guess that's farely modded (and other non performance oriented changes like harnesses). Anyway, looks like you enjoyed yourself as I did - my 2 novice runs are up so I guess it's time to choose a class (STU or SM) for me (have to remove my carbon hood for STU I think). can't wait for next season
found out why brian beat me buy 2 seconds and change.... apparently my car had no negative camber in my from two tires..... AHHHHH. I knew something was up.
Is it because of the wear on your tires, or did you car lose it's alignment? My LF tire heated up 4psi more than my RF tire on Sunday's course. Check those pressues y0!
I guess the car just went out of alignment after 6 months, 1 track day and 10+ autocross events. Can't want to see how it works at the COC event on the 4th. -- Brian
