Nah, its not like the lines are expensive. Just keep an eye on them.

There are heat resistant lines you can get to go over them or around them. Just go to summitracing.com or whatever their site is and they have tons of heat blankets and all kinds of products.

You should move the Clear line to behind the Blow off valve on the intercooler, if that line is a boost gauge line. And then replace that cracked line.

    once again thx alot.

And my boost gauge only hits up to 5, whats up with that? Might be a leak at boost line or maybe wasnt installed propally?

you've prolly still got a leak

Especially at the RPMs he was at. No boost control, WOT, at 110...

    lucky indeed.

well im getting a boost controller soon for free. And a leak where? leak at the line that connects over to the gauges, or actual leak some where around the turbo??

There is already a boost controller on your car...do you mean a manual boost controller?

The rubber line that was broken is what supplies the wastegate with boost pressure. The electronic boost controller already installed on your car regulates the amount of pressure going to the wastegate via that line. When that line is broken or disconnected (as it was in your case) it cannot do its job. That means that when you are at wide open throttle there is nothing to keep the turbo from over-spooling...this can damage the turbo and the engine.

The way you were driving, you are lucky that neither one happend...

The jerks that you were feeling at 80? 90? and...110...was it? Were most likely the engine computer trying to sort out the mess you were making.

If I am looking at your pics right that clear line looks to be the boost gauge line. It's in the wrong place if it is tied in to the lines that come off the turbo. The boost gauge line needs to come off either the BOV vac line or the manifold itself.

taking a used high performance car to an expert on that particular car is the FIRST thing you should do for any used HP car... before you even go through your first tank of fuel.

Learn something about your car and do it yourself. It's fool proof. See that vaccum hose on your BOV? Tee into it and voila it's done.

You still have a leak though....since that is the turbo source it should still see more than 5 psi boost.

If I didn't have my RX8 to trade in I would, but alas, it is keeping me from many things right now in the automotive world.
