I'm not gonna mod this but it already has Wilwood front brakes, Full Turner Motorsports suspension with camber plates and strut bars, and probably has more under it that I haven't found yet.

I suspect it may also be chipped as I'll be surprised if it's not faster than my 18g setup was from a roll. I'm loving everything about this car.

I officially hate you even though I have never met you. I would love a E46 M3.

Do you have a good shop around to take care of the maintenance? Those can get pricey to take care of if you drive it a lot.

That's cool. I was just wondering. I am very jealous.

If I read things right when I was looking at them, you have to adjust the valves every 15K miles. The shims needed were dealer only last I read(it was over a year ago). Has this changed?

Also, don't forget that the oil for that car was a dealer only item last I read. If you use a different oil it will void the engine warranty that was extended due to some kind of bearing issue. Got a good source for the oil out there?

I will have a car like that one day. It just won't be my daily driver.

I was just going by what I read on the M3 forums I browsed. They said on there that the independent shops had to go through the dealers to get some of the parts to maintain the M3. If what was said was wrong then I am more than welcome to learning what is right.

Not necessarily wrong, you just have to have the right connections in the right places.

    Ah, I understand.

I still want one. I would want one in grey or silver though. I have done some quick searches and I am stunned at how much the prices on these cars have dropped int he last 12-18 months. I am seeing price drops of $5000-10K. You can't say that is normal depreciation. THe economy really brought the used prices of these cars down.

Odd, usually in recessions used car prices jump and new car prices drop.

New cars being the more expensive, less attractive option.

I think, at least in the Atlanta metro, it is more of a price correction than anything. I saw 2002 M3's priced at $25-30K about 18 months ago. Now they are less than $20K. I saw 2005-6 models going for $40K. Now those were less than $30K when I went looking around today. The M3 was far more expensive than it should have been in this area.

Nice, I'm sure you will be really happy, I do some private instruction for a guy with one at Roebling every once in a while and they are very capable cars in stock form. With a few select upgrades they are track stars

So true but to have that smooth as butter autobahn surface really lets that car shine. Got to run in a M5 on a visit and quite honsetly not comfortable to ride or drive unless you cruised at 100mph. Those wiley Germans know how to dial in the suspension.

Heh. The biggest annoyance I had with the WRX was that EVERYTHING rattled like no other. It irritated me so much and I'm deaf yet still heard it.

The M3 is so nice and quiet.
