Wait for the GTXR then Either way I think you will notice a difference in all aspects. It should spool up a faster and give you more top end power as well.
Bosch pumps in the trunk are louder than Walbro's in the tank. Problem solved with one sheet of dynamatt behind the rear seat upper. Looks sweet- Decker will post in a week or two when the box is built to show off the unit. And I think the HTA3582 would be a good immediate choice- who wants to wait? I'll try and get it installed next week.
Problem with the HTA35r is its designed for higher pressure ratios. So while it works well on evo's, for subaru's it makes little to no difference over the STD 35r.
An AMS? AMS doesnt actually make turbos...they just make kits. I believe they are using both the PTE and Garret turbos right now. You could get a PTE 6262 BB Turbo if you want 500+ whp.
And based on the recent thread on Nabisco, I wouldn't use a Garret 35r anymore. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1936851
Blah Blah Blah....Ill take a new Garrett over the rest of the market anyday. So he used to work there and they fired him...now he is pissed
No sheet for you (in soupnazi accent). I want to have things completely finished before final tune. This includes some hidden trunk bling that Jason at Forged has crafted. We're over 500whp/wht so far and probably ditching the GT35R for something along the lines of the 850r / 6262. Mmmm..... V-band. Currently happy to run at 26psi and since Scott finished the cold start tables it fires after 2-4 seconds. Powerband runs from 4000-7500.
Honeywell has owned Garret for a long time as explained in the rant on nasioc. Where do you think most of the castings for these turbos are coming from? You really think they are made in the USA? maybe assembled here but the castings are all done overseas now.
So you are ditching the 35r for something bigger yet won't quote what it's making now? Over 500 is a BROAD spectrum. Many numbers after 'over' 500. Quit hiding and just state what it's making now. Or shut up altogether until it's done because saying it's over 500 is just stirring the pot and causing people to ask/inquire questions.
But in a years time, the entire thing will be produced elsewhere. To Honeywell: quantity > quality regardless of where its made or who makes it. Sorry for the OT conversation. Just passing the info on.
Matt, no one gives a damn if you are bringing your car JK Actually, I was asking if the OP was bringing his car out to the track to end this crazy debate.
As soon as it is done it will go to the track. And one of the Forged guys will drive. I am teh suck at drag racing.
Wirelessly posted i hope so. look at how much money you spent. and you are not limited by things like ecu and maf. lol what does that mean? im still not impressed. i bet you wont get anywhere near a 10.3.
Sorry we bore you Sharif...remember, we are all restarded monkeys in here...what else would you expect from us?
Oh, ok. In that case "Casted" is my next random word. Ehhh...i dont think we should be picking on the OWNER... I thought we were supposed to be throwing the rotten veggies at the shop that has taken intellectual property(ies).
Steve, at least your honest about your abilities, I guess some people who follow drag racing on a grassroots level might be aware of quite few "car owners" who have others drive their car because said owner sux. Hell you see it on Pinks all the time (hate to admit that I have watched it) I think a good challenge would be for 3 passes in each others cars, then we'll see you has the best and who is the best
Sounds like a good idea. Hmm. How about this: I have never drag raced in my life. I have run autocross for 5 seasons, but only 3-4 times per year on average. I have been on Road Atlanta 5 times. Little Taladega once, and VIR once (but not in a competition). I'll probably get a GT-R for my next car, unless Subaru releases the Prodrive car with a 6cyl turbo.
When the turbo, battery, grounding wires go in and the tuning gets done. I want to see Scott tune my stock ECU to pass emissions. That will be a hoot. Someone over there needs to teach me to drive on the track...
There was a problem with the turbo....wasn't big enough. Car will be ready on Saturday, tuned and race ready. Just need the right weekend to get up to Commerce and run it. I'll also be taking it to Little Talledega for the Forged Time Attack.
