I highly disagree on the Moton rebuild intervals. I bought my set used for the BMW, and they were used for 2 seasons, and I had them torn down for a rebuld with I received them, and there were no issues, aside from the canisters getting damaged during shipment (not packed correctly). My friend ran 2 seasons on his autocross car, hitting up about 70 events and putting 20k miles on them. He took them to get rebuild, and there were no issues with them. On the other hand, those KW V3 shocks that I picked used from Doug and ran a season badly needed a rebuild after we put 3/4 a season on them. (2 were leaking and cavitating) I am a huge fan of Moton due to their high quality and tight manufacturing tolerances. I would not hesitate to get another set for the next car that we build up.
JRZ would be my choice, and the guys over at Forged sell alot of them, so they should be able to get you a deal. The lead suspension engineer and head of JRZ USA is actually in town tonight and tomorrow, I am having dinner with him tonight. The customer service that you get from JRZ from what we have experienced far exceeds anything we have gotten from other competing companies. Thats why we keep going back to them. I think any of the choices listed would be just fine though.
Knock it off. If you want to discuss the build, then discuss the build. Take the "grippes" to OT or the telephone.
But we have not even got to the merge yet. We are. This is the "debate" thread. *fixed for you* Fine. http://wrxatlanta.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27665
Will... Chill out. Seriously Drew made a thread in supporting members forum that was titled Grippes...it's stuck ever since.
in...:keke: These threads are a good read for making your own opinions about different performance aspects of a built car. You get to see different view points from different people who know what they are talking about when it comes to these types of machines. Oh yeah, and whenever I post on a thread it usually dies so... here you go.
Things should pick back up on this thread tomorrow. Car is getting strapped down sometime on Wed 3/31/10.
Well yeah ... 5 minutes when the dyno isn't being used. Between me being slammed and tuning being pretty booked, it makes it a bit harder than 'just 5 minutes' I'll see if Sharif will pull the graph for me when he's finished with his tune.
539whp. 4500-7500 powerband range. 28psi. I can stop by topspeed and dyno tomorrow if they have time. Forged will schedule the drag day in next 3 weeks so I can have a 10 sec run.
So the new turbo got ya an extra 29 hp....does it spool faster than the old one? Any comparison of the graphs?
I think the first Friday Night drag at AMS would be a good test as well. Cheaper, closer, and less BS to deal with
I was going to bring it to Caffeine and Octane this Sunday, but with Easter being this Sunday- the meet is next Sunday. Someone let Mrs. Sharif know that.
Still would like to see a graph. Oh well. I was just curious to see how the 62 performed on a stroked 2.5 liter. What time are you planning to head over to topspeed?
No time to do it today... I have 3 tunes, but for sure some other time we can put it on the dyno and see.
I was in the neighborhood and stopped by. Red Evo on dyno. Shop looks busy. Nice meeting Cicio. I'll swing by in the next few weeks.
Very nice too meet you too Steve. Good to put a face with the name! Look forward to seeing you next Sunday, coffee is on me (I mean we can't drink beer at 8am)
Car is going back to the shop soon. Needs RCE T2 upgrade. Idle is smooth and starts right up. I need the AC idle bumped up on the map, but other than that it feels like stock until boost hits. Banshee noises. Decker is supposed to post some pics and graphs and stuff... the car is sweet. My kids like to go zooming, but it is scary fast for me so I take it easy on them.
