Here we have some pictures of a computer driving a gtr down the dragstrip....sorry couldn't help myself
↑↑↑ With a 1.5 60ft! Thats crazy fast! Even the 997 GT2 & GT3 have a pretty nice system, helps with the rwd i'm sure. But yeah that AWD Turbo was FAST in a straight line.
Hey guys, Sorry I didn't put up the results sooner. They didn't post them until last night. Only a couple days left!
Thanks for the laughs again Matt, I guess Tray will be busy at work with all those reports he fills out every day
Congrats on second place. (*this is a serious congrats as I know 2nd and even 3rd in OLOA isn't easy to do*) Consistently placed well throughout the event. GT-R's really have a LOT of potential with very little work needed.
We are extremely pleased with the results. Catesby did an amazing job with the GT-R. With such little seat time, and the vehicle equipped with the basic bolt ons he was very competitive
Where is this year's thread? I saw the car in the results. Saw that it beat the TS GT-R on the wet skid pad
A well built CRX with K24 power with a national champion who has been on that site many times... Not something to feel too bad about getting beat by.
And an 1989 Honda at that. Heard that the Forged car copied the mods from the Topspeed one... Same fenders, same tires, similar splitters, but not the same wing. . Not too suprising as they sounded like good parts choices, and will be interesting to see them compete on similar builds, but funny considering the big deal made earlier by forged about Topspeed supposedly copying them. Wish I had the time/money/skills to do OLOA. Best of luck to all.
What happened to the Forged car today? I heard that it was pumping out black smoke from my SC friend out there today?
They are back to running strong now. They are the only competition TS has as both those GTRs are dominating everyone.
Unfortunately for them, falling that far behind on that one event has cost them tremendously. They are now 305 points behind first place, and that will be impossible to make up the way things are going
Definitely. They probably have a decent shot to make 4th overall, but I just dont see them catching up over 100 points to get 3rd
There are 11 events left, with as close as 2nd-4th tend to run, if Catesby consistently finishes 2nd and the others move around, that's plenty of time to make up the 150 points needed for 2nd.
LOL...you are constantly a fountain of misinformation. Coolrex and I actually agree on something, for once.
Actually it was smoking but only bc of the blown off IC piping resulting in it running PIG rich. Now the amount was prolly exaggerated but with a blown off IC pipe it'll put out some nasty black smoke :wiggle: Noticed on the live feed his back bumper was no longer white but carbonized gold colored. Gotta love turbo cars that are white....I never had a clean bumper on my old WRX.
Yeah his bumper has been mismatched since day one. Richer turbo at mixtures cause the clear to degrade even further with time. Nissan improves their bumper matches on the 2011-12 models but I can still tell the difference. With couplers attached properly, it's amazing how much power the car makes. 188mph on stock turbos at Daytona is no joke.
That is no joke.......watching Leh on the embankment at that angle was un-nerving. Catesby has serious talent just like Leh.
I know he hit that on the first run (when they blew the IC pipe again), did he back the car down for the second run? thats still the fastest overall I think. The topspeed car only hit 181mph IIRC. that is seriously fast
Correct but you also have to consider that the Topspeed car has a lot more downforce. It makes a difference at those high speeds. Regardless both cars are wicked and very potent.
