It is, I thought that was stated above. The map was unsafe because it specifically states that an IC and CAi are NOT to be used with it. This is the Cobb OTS Stage 2 map. Hence, the protuning to solve the problems and make more go go!
yeah sorry to cause a threadjack....I'll PM Moose about this, I think he's the most knowledgable about this subject or maybe just ask Scott but I'm sure he's mad busy......If someone has any links to additional info on this or can shed some light on this subject please PM me...
Arh! I completely misread what #3 wrote, my mistake. I dont think running the STi TMIC would pose as much of an issue compare to running the Hyperflow, Perrin, etc. The gap is much smaller between those. Regarding BOV, Intake, etc. All of the Cobb OTS maps are designed to use with a tbe, and that's it. There are OTS maps for vf34s as well. For example, take a peek at their map's page (http://www.cobbtuning.com/wrx/accessport/20index.html) and you'll find this written everywhere -- "Requires stock turbo, stock intake and turboback exhaust." Hope that helps, PM me if you have any questions.
Sorry this has taken so long. I've gone to post it like 5 times today, and I made ALL the comparison plots this morning, but I've had over 40 (FORTY!) phone calls today (I have 11 messages left...) I'm going to post this before I leave. SS
Awesome number Milo. I want to break that damn 300whp. hahaha I envy you man. That 365wtq is a pure shearing torque!!!
damn i guess that came out wrong. I was LOLing at you b/c of what you said about how little it takes to break 300whp. then again, I guess this lets me know to stay away from bigb996, aka the warlord, well at least when he has a floorboard near him
i had a ride in it, although it was with 5 people, it felt a little slower than the WRX in its prime.
the off boost torque is definitely nicer due to the added displacement on the STi compare it to the WRX dyno: http://www.wrxatlanta.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5260 STi: 365 wtq (~3400 rpm), 318 whp (~5300 rpm) WRX: 340 wtq (~4100 rpm), 337 whp (~5600-6300 rpm) so the STi has literally, no top end power at all... in the STi, the power comes on hard and dies out above 5500 rpm... the WRX came on smoother but ripped all the way to redline... then again, the WRX had meth and a bigger turbo now what turbo do i want on the STi
20g! When I go 2.5 block I am gonna try the 18g I have now and see how I like it. Considering the VF39 on the STi can do 335hp 400+ tq on meth inj I am willing to say that the 18g should be able to do 400 hp and 420 tq with the hybrid setup. Now I have to get a new clutch. The 6 puck has started to slip :furious:
