Unfortunately nobody can make a course un-dnf-able; however the course must flow correctly for it to be followed. All course design is approved by our Chief Saftey Steward prior to opening the course for walks. However "looking" ahead and "thinking" ahead are two critcal skills that are usually developed with alot of good seat time.

I make no excuse for my DNF, I went left when I should have gone right. It was where there were two lefts then two rights and I made an extra turn.

    More course walks next time.

i've got a question about how this works. usually on an unfamiliar track/pass/touge/whatever, the rule of thumb is late apex the unknowns (i.e. SIFO)

why would this be different for autoX? not enough straights?

    Early turn in helps you

    a) you will not turn the wheel too much
    b) since you are turning in earlier, you can get on the gas earlier
    c) most elements are transional like saloms or offsets, the later you turn in you will "get behind" on the element and not have the weight transferred smoothly from element to element.
