That's what I originally thought too, but Bob ruled that out and gave me the above-said explanation. Said to keep an ear out, just in case it starts to get louder, though. ...you've caught me, red handed.
well atleast your in good hands, amongst friends..I had already spent way too much money before i knew that I could have gotten WAY better advice and help to do my mods that I desired...
ive done a few. ill see if i can borrow the breakerbar i used to do them. its really very easy. its not underdrivien is it? youll need new belts if it is. i also wouldnt recomend an underdriven one. i had one that was messing with the eletrical voltage because it was underdriven.
no i am going with the cobb crank pulley or perrin because they are both the stock size just lighter and they won't mess the electrical stuff up
I want to definitely check out the crank pulley install..almost that time to get new belts so might do pulleys with the belts.....maybe I won't even install my TT...everyone else is doing some interesting installs I wouldn't want to miss
Here's the page for other pics of that Baja: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2323328 There's only one of the exhaust though. From what I was told, I could probably get any exhaust I wanted that was for a WRX but I'd need to have a few inches added to the pipe to make it long enough. It looks like that's exactly what this person did here - cut off the tip from the muffler and had the extra length added there, and even had it curved down so as not to need to cut anything on the body itself to make it fit.
We are offering free shipping on all the products on the website that we have in stock for the install day. It will need to be purchased by this Friday in order to get here before the install day. Don't be left out without anything to install btw, we should have mostly everything in stock right now.
they make cat backs for the baja. of course theres nothing wrong with making your own. i would have to sugest to get a better muffler to do this with than a wrx muffler. get a dyna flow or magna flow to add extentions to rather than a stock super restrictive muffler. but the best option is to save and get an aftermarket cat back that has mandrel bends and ss. http://www.xcceleration.com/baja-leg-drive-sup.htm
Looking at the install page for the exhaust, they have THE exact same pic as the one I posted earlier... Now, to save up the $800 and get one myself.
UPDATE: I will be able to make it I shall bring an up-pipe and Turbo Timer + Harness. Along with two jackstands and a jack. And possibly some toolz.
count me in.. i'm comming i will be installing up pipe, boost gauge, and 2 pairs of hella horns.. also if sum1 can bring some good wire it will be great.. also let me know what i need to bring..
I'll be there to have some exhaust guru's check mine for leaks :naughty: And to get my jack stands back :fawk: Craig
i am for sure coming up from mississippi and probably bringing 2 other imprezza's with me. so about 3-4 people. i would really appreciate the help installing my perrin crank pulley i just bought. thanx and can't wait to meet u guys!!
^^^ maybe check with some local muffler shops. You could try Nopi or the race shop that I forget the name of... **Something like Barnett's, maybe**
yeah, you could try Summit. Also may want to try Mustangs Unlimited and Modular Powerhouse. **oooohhhh, did I really just post Mustang related stuff in a Suby house** :hsnono: It's def. not Barnett's though (I actually think it's a car wash place)
when i said summit i was tring to remember a shop close to the sound barnett. lol isnt barnett a bank that got bought out by bank of america.
We have 3" donut gaskets Remember free shipping on everything on the website and I can bring it to the install day for you hehe
my new job wants me to get training on the 8th...i'll miss out after all. Booo Hopefully this one won't turn into a headlight bake fest like the last one did
Anyone changing his/her oil? I need to learn how to do this so I don't have to pay labor fees and stuff. Got my oil changed today at SOG, 33 for regular and 66 for Mobil 1. So i got the regular -_-
^^I know what you mean bout that 60-65 bucks an oil change. +1 mobile 1 Ok at least one I've got to be the only person who hasn't done it yet and I wana do it before I get the rockblocker stuff on the lights.
Anyone having problems getting a CEL fix on 04s with a cattless uppipe? I put in a resistor but the CEL keeps coming on. Suggestions? I'll be at this install day too with tools, ramps, jackstands for anyone who needs them.
What EM do you have? Cobb and Ecutek can change the thresholds so that you won't throw a code. If you don't have either of those two it's a real easy fix using the open ecu tools.
I will tryo to be there to support but probably nothing to install even i have my P&P&C Crucial exh manifold and UP and a perrin DP. Can you post a link or a picture of the 3" donut. What is the ID and the largest of the OD
I'm gonna try and be there. I have to drive back from tampa that day. or the night before. I need to install an up-pipe, HID lights and ballasts, and a Kartboy ss with bushings.
Here is where you can get the stuff http://www.tactrix.com/. Kind of pricey to fix just the CEL. Since you have no EM I'll bring my stuff. I don't mind flashing to fix the CEL's but I won't touch an ecu that has a custom tune on it.
Thanks! Now, will this eliminate the computer trying to read the sensor entirely? or is it simply a reflash? If it allows access to the actual ECU, can you selectively turn off just that EGT sensor or do you have to turn them all off? I've cleared the ECU several times before (disconnect terminals on batter and hold brakes) only to have it come back. I wonder if 2.2k Ohm resistors might be wrong for 04s, or I just have one that's a bad wattage on mine.
i have 4 pop tabs left over from when i took my car apart at the last install day. Perhaps i can "install" those
AGL, I'd be glad to help where I can. I've done all of those except for dutting an up... M-chan and BrianGT are the king and queen of spring installs though if they're going to be there. Just look me up, i'll be the guy trying to find something to help install since I don't ahve anything except a CEL to fix.
We're going to have a lot of spring installs. I figure we have only 2 or so going at a time. This way we can do all 4 corners of the car and it'll go faster. Any thoughts on this?
actually.... i can't make it. I got excited becasue I havn't worked saturday in a while. But this week my schedule has been changed so i work on saturdays now... gheyyyyy D:
