Nope. That's an American political solution to avoiding the real solution that politicians fear even whispering about: tax per dollar. Just like our current sales tax....just like every other country in the world has. I'll vote for the guy that proposes reducing income tax and increasing gas tax.

I think the tag scanners are a great idea. As long as the system does not exceed its current boundaries. The scanner can uncover 'higher value' targets to law enforcement that previously remained hidden. I am talking about when a stolen tag or a tag reported under Levi's Call is seen. Identifying and apprehending these types of targets are of much more value to the community than the distracted driver.

Incidentally, my wife got pulled over by a cruiser with scanners (over a year ago now). Her tag had expired. The cop was delighted - she was the first 'perp' that his scanner ever picked up. She got away with a warning.

what everyone here is failing to remember/realize is DRIVING IS A PRIVILEGE, not a "right" or "personal freedom". It can be taken away at any time for any reason, by any law enforcement agency.

and to add to that, with driving being a PRIVILEGE, and not a "right" they can also do whatever they want to enforce the laws they make regarding driving. and there is virtually nothing you or i can do about it.

you can vote the retards out of office. but that would require people giving a shit.

and yes, the supreme court has never made any distinction as driving being included in your right to interstate travel. I wish they would for air travel, so we could get rid of this horrible BS called the no fly list

    agreed.

if we voted driving into law as a "right" then we might actually have some say in how it was governed, until that day, everyone is SOL.
