Not 100% sure, but I think they Tom was saying that the last time they went it only took a couple of hours. Look for the old Mountain Run thread.
Probably take a few hours. If we meet up around 7am/730am chat for a little bit / eat / fuel up. Try to head north by 745 or so. we should be back by Noon. Last time Tom and I went we were gone about 3 hours. I could put together a MS Project plan and send it out.
Another way to answer your question about how long it will take. Modify variables as needed Distance = (r) x (t) avg speed = 40mph Distance = 120 miles Time = x hrs r = D / T r = 120 / 40 r = 3 hours <=== Approx Time
good formula... i usually like to model all the variables as random variables... gaussian usually works fine so here's my shot at it: speed (modelled as a gaussian) = v ~ N(M,var) distance (constant) = d therefore, probability density function of t : f(t) = (d/(t^2))(1/(sqrt(2*pi*var)))*exp(-((d/t - M)^2)/(2*var)) if u want to find the probability that you will be done in time T, integrate this for 0<t<T TECH RULES !!!!!!!!!! :ddirty:
I just wanted to know when i'd be back so i could hook up with my hot girlfriend... GEORGIA RULES!!! :coold:
oh so we're going to take this thread there huh? I expected more from you tech guys... something a little like :gaysex:
man really with breakfast and everything else, i would say from atlanta and back its about 4 hours total. for you thats another hour here and back so i would say six if you stick to schedule.
thanks man, i'm actually going to be living in atlanta starting may 23rd because i'm interning with morgan stanley for the summer. i look foward to seeing more of you guys over the summer, maybe i'll make it out to taco mac
good news, looking forward to a fun summer myself cause all next year is gonna SUCK Big ASS hairy BAlls.
Just wanna let you guys know that the bimmerforums.com crew just went up there last weekend and they had a bit of trouble with the 5-0, so I'd be careful. The police are cracking down on 400 traffic especially. Click on the link above to check out the post-mountain run comments. lostinthewoods: What part of WI are you visiting? I just moved from there last summer. Mick
Hey Mick, I have been in milwaukee off and on since last August. Actually staying over in brookfield and working up near menomonee falls. Atlanta, so needs a KOPPS hehe. that froze custard is very addictive.
I lived a few mins north of Mequon in Grafton. If you're interested, the Milwaukee Subaru folks have GTG's every Tuesday evening. If you check out the MWIC section of NASIOC, then you'll see a thread about when and where they're meeting. If you do go, tell'em Mick said hey. Mick
You can add me to the list! My band is not going to be playing in H-town this weekend, so i'm in. -drums
I hope to be able to make it. I wil be really pissed if they schedule me for every Saturday this month.
I checked out NASIOC and saw the meeting up here in WI. I decided to pass on out b/c of work and also that I am pimping my Chevy Malibu. Anyhow maybe another time i can make it over there. I see a ton of Subies up here thou
Just found out last night that we will be playing in H-town the 28th. So i won't be able to make the mountain run now. I'll just make a mountain run of my own up to the beautiful mountains of WV!! -drums
just realized... is the 28th gonna be memorial day weekend? if so, i wonder how bad traffic is gonna be on those roads
An early start may help. Probably need to discuss how early folks would want to meet up. I believe I had mentioned meeting at 7am. I forgot about that long weekend too .
Even a slow ride may be good so the peeps who havent been up there can see what there is to offer. I like having any excuse to go on a drive... so kiss my... :moon: :moon: :moon:
