I could possibly be down. Being that it's near the end of the semester though, I probably won't know until closer to the date.

I think Meredith's point, and I hate to speak for other people, was that on Mountain Runs, even when you're not traveling at excessive speeds or driving dangerously, unexpected things can happen. At most auto-x events, the worst thing that can happen, when you drive the car properly as Milo was doing on the Mountain Run, is that you end up with some bald tires. It was just to illustrate a point, not to bash Milo...at least that how I took it. My comment afterwards not withstanding....

Yeah man! IF Hazzards goin I'll be like fawk yeah! :wiggle:

Maybe he can even bring some more of our bros from the Savannah side. (hint hint) It's definitely going to be fun, even if it rains a little and honestly who here really expects it to be completely dry the whole way. Lol. If you do, go ahead and shine your car up if you want to.

    Cliffnotes: Let's do this!

I think we're all going to fun pretty tame this time around...be it ticket avoidance or bald tires...it will be a good safe trip. And this time of year I'd hate to miss a free weekend to go up there.

I haven't been online in a couple days and just noticed that I have been plugged in here. After my accident, I came home and posted up pics of my wreck. It had been put up as a reality check for everyone who ventures out to the mountains for spirited driving. For anyone who wants more details, please read this thread: http://www.wrxatlanta.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5463

In the various mountain runs I have been on, I have seen some people get reckless. I have seen people pass others on blind corners. I have seen people speed through a corner where the furthest you can see is 15 feet ahead of you. As long as you don't do anything stupid like that, you should be fine. Uncontrolled environmental conditions are out of your hands. You must drive defensively to make sure you can compensate for a bad condition ahead of you. When I wrecked, I wasn't being aggressive. But I wasn't as defensive as I should have been. If you drive responsibly, the level of risk can be significantly reduced.

There's a lot to be enjoyed in the mountains besides speeding. The air is good and the scenery is awesome. If you guys don't make it to the club wars, have fun in the mountains :)

    ^^ Well said.

I myself had problems in that same corner that same day. There was most certainly no horsing around on my part, I was simply following Keith out of the park. I chalked it up as something having to do with
our suspension setups, as Milo and I both have the Flex coilovers. I believe that there was another car (with Flex's) that had the same problem in the same corner as well.

Key thing is to be safe.

No doubt man. I can't wait to meet some of you I've never seen before and to see some of your setups and stuff.

Everyone in this club's always been cool as fawk and I'm proud to wear my decals even out here on the west coast where people are like

See you guys after about 2700 miles.

Sorry I don't have a link to the other theads, but its pretty much the exact same route and meeting place as previous runs. Wal mart in dahlonega around 11am. Bring radios, check tire pressure, and fluid levels!

Here's what I had used for the last mountain run! Edited slightly to reflect the current run.

The last time we went we actually ran this in reverse and it was awesome.

Yes, I recommend reverse... Although, the last run I went on with Keith, we took the longer loop and it was badass. Its much more suited for more of a 'cruise' than that ^ loop.

^^ agreed. I thought mine would've been much worse than it was.
I had mine done 2 years ago, 2 days before Thanksgiving. All I needed was some
Tylenol the next day and I was eating turkey the following day.

I went up to the mountains last night with someone about midnight just to drive around and talk. It was great! Its so quiet up there, and the stars are bright as hell. We stopped at the hiking store at the top, and sat at that lookout for about an hour just talking... Thats my new favorite place :)
