my WRX would get real loose in fast trasitions. You just need to have fast hands and modulate the throttle so you keep weight over the back end. Plus spinningis fun and chicks dig it!

Your WRX had a TWENTY SEVEN MILLIMETER REAR SWAY BAR ON IT.

    and it was awesome!!

At one novice school the front endlink broke and I had an all out drift machine.

well, i decided against autocrossing this weekend so i felt the need to accomplish some car stuff  so here's some pictures and video of the exhaust:

Borla part# 14885...it was too wet today to throw on a coat of flat black, but that's the plan. i don't like the looks of blingy exhausts but i especially don't like the looks of rusty, dirty, exhausts like mine!

one problem i've always had with alot of exhaust videos is that people take videos of their exhaust when they start the car, so the exhaust isn't even warm (can sound totally different) and then they proceed to rev a cold car (cringe) or they only rev it to about 3 or 4k which doesn't help me get the full effect. but mostly, what can you get from hearing a car rev in place? its not under load and its only a second before you're bumping the redline, so you don't get a very good sample of the true sound. so i decided to create the Hitchcamâ„¢ and drive around. that's right, i ziptied my camera to the hitch. duct tape was at the ready just in case...

after a year or so of running 93 to keep the pinging at bay, Romraider finally released their updated definitions so i had a chance to take care of a few things in the tuning of the car so that i can safely (IMO) run 87 again. primarily i was interested in the open loop map and the closed loop delay criteria. i'd like to change the throttle map as well to smooth the pedal out a bit.

i'm by no means any kind of "tuner", i'm pretty much a hack but i'm learning. all i can say is that if you have an 05+ N/A you owe it to yourself to at least explore opensource tuning. even with my crap tune the car has so much more midrange now and its very smooth throughout the entire rev range. in addition to the power it doesn't sound like a can of marbles below 4k rpm anymore either so i'm a happy camper. city mileage has obviously dropped but highway is largely the same.

eventually i may look into a 93 tune done by someone with some skill. i'd love to know what the real power ceiling is on a stockish late model 2.5RS with a really good 93 tune.

    stock open loop t00n :vomit:

obviously i'm leaving alot on the table especially at the highest rpm/load cells but again, i'm no real tuner. i also wasn't even going to attempt to take any large amount of fuel OUT of the map without a wideband at least.

more logging to do and i should really scale the MAF but we'll see...i'm on a borrowed cable and they'd probably like it back :wavey:
