I played the demo PS3 up at Target and I have to say it was pretty impressive..I would buy one but I dont have enough time to dedicate to playing it to justify the cost.

Reinforcing my belief that profit would be somewhere in the $500 range. Not a bad profit, but again, not sure if its worth 30 hours of standing in line, in the rain, plus the food and beverage costs associated...*disclaimer* for me *disclaimer*

Go look at 'completed auctions' and see what the recent ones have closed for. $2k is wishful thinking right now, I do believe.

eh, its cool with me, i went into the thing thinking i would only be able to sell it for mid 1ks, i met some pretty cool people while hanging out and had a goos time other than the fact it was insanely cold. Ill probably hold onto it until the first week in december, im sure the demand will be higher then due to the over saturation of the market right now.

Mine just went on eBay for $1501.00 before shipping. All fees (including eBay and Paypal) included I made a $530 profit (with my PS3 60GB version I added an extra controller, 2 year warranty, and the game "Resistance - Fall of Man"). For the amount of time I spent out there, it's a $16/hr payment. Considering I slept for 30% of the time, I think it's a really easy, quick way to make some cash. Not to mention everybody we camped out with was really cool so it made it really fun. Even if I had come out even, I figured that it was a good experience and I had fun doing it.

A lot of people are hating on those of us who waited out in the cold and rain for these things, but if I had the chance to do it again I probably would.

Now see, this I can relate to. If you went into it looking for an experience, I understand that. Its the people who did it not because it was fun or for the challenge, but simply because they wanted to make money that I don't get...

I mean I was stressed out for the past day due to the fact that I had spent $852 and I had no sleep, and wanted to make sure I didn't lost money from the whole thing. But as soon as I made $900 on eBay I was happy because I knew that I was coming out at least even. I had a great time hanging out with everybody for 2 days, made some great new friends, and as a bonus I happened to yield a profit. If I was just wanting to make a profit I could have skipped a week of school and worked at my dads office for a few days, but how many times in your life are you going to be able to camp out in the middle of a city for 2 days, meet some friends, and yield a profit? I'm glad some people see that it wasn't just for the money, and that it was worth doing.

Now I'm drinking and celebrating, because now I can buy some really good x-mas presents for my family and girlfriend :D

My problem is that my PS2 broke recently... What do I do? Pay $120 for a new PS2 or wait 6 months and pony up for a PS3. I too want to make sure all the bugs are worked out and all PS2 games are compatible before I buy one.... What to do, What to do????

that's why I bought the 2 year warranty. No matter what, within 2 years you can just take it back to any Best Buy and get a store credit or a free replacement for a PS3

So, I was talking to some friends today that camped out for them. It was 4 guys and each person bought one. They were all doing it just as an investment strategy, and it already worked out for one of the guys. Someone offered him 1500 cash right outside the store, which he took. The other guys are going the ebay route.

    Yeah, profits are dwindling.

What'd it go for? $599+tax? With 7% tax that's $641... free shipping which everybody seems to offer, say another $20 or so... ebay fees maybe $35...

So that's a little over $600 profit for, what, 30 hours of waiting?

    No thanks. :)

i suspected this would happen... if i remember correctly, a lot of people who bought the PS2, bought it for personal use... the people who sold it made some coin and thats what motivated people to buy PS3 just to sell it... there are a lot of them on ebay now so simple supply/demand answers that
