Well my buddy got his new shoes on his LGT some Dunlops Z1 I believe. So he said he'll be there except I'm not sure if I will be there yet or not never really taken 99 RS on a little curvy run would be a nice time to do it though.

Not sure didn't really ask they are on his 5 spoke stockers. I can find out tomorrow though what size and everything he went with.

    clickity click click...

It stopped today. It was doing it last month too but went away and came back the other night and stopped today. Unless my steering rack snaps I should be on this run

Get your pwr steering fluid flushed/replaced. Maybe it's just toasted fluid.

I'm down for this meet. I prefer the morning when less people are on the MTN. More room to play. I think I'll hang with 4sevens up front. ;)

    Word of warning: slow down

There have been more cops on 180 + blood mountain than I've ever seen here lately.

About 4 weeks ago they had a roll-back truck sitting at one of the blind turns and several bikes put up on them. (And it wasn't because they weren't working.)

I personally got a ticket from a GSP close to the bottom near Dahalonga that weekend. :unamused:

So enjoy it, or be prepared to pay the high speed tax.

Worst time for police and traffic in N GA is from about 10AM - 3PM. Perfect time for the BBQ! Best runs are 7-8AM-9AM or 3-5PM if you're looking to go fast. 7AM-9AM usually the best temps for turbos and windows-down, but sometimes foggy and dewy. 3-5 PM better road conditions but hot.

Never mind the cops on 180, the problem from 9AM to 2PM is bicycles. Too many blind corners and bicycles. They tire out and leave at around 2PM or so. Best run at 10AM-2PM is hwy 348, bikes/motos don't seem to know about that road. CAUTION: There is a cop that comes out of a church on 348 around that time frame, so far he hasn't stopped any of us but....

You could say I go up there alot :D

More good tips: SLOW DOWN if there are: Parking areas for hikers, churches (duh), houses, bicycles. WAVE to anyone who stops or slows to let you pass (especially the bicycles). The nicer we are, the less negative attention we'll get. Some of the locals like to roll slow and never yield. Ya just have to go with it or pull off, don't ride their bumpers it just makes them dislike us more.

Yeah - doesn't look like my motor will be broken in by next week - so I'll be chillin at wastegate pressure : )

  16. I was up on Blood Mountain last weekend from 1-3pm... traffic was light and I didnt see any cops. It was really foggy until about ten thats why I'm in favor of the afternoon.

    180? cops? on what corner??

unless they got a helicopter there isnt a spot for them to sit around and eat donuts.

348? hmm ive never been... may be we can venture out to there.

the one with the gravel road that goes off of the corner ( not very descriptive but i'm drunk and you're wrong)

    :unamused:

sure, there are never any cops on 180, i think you should go 85 mph on it. do it.

I'm wondering. What keeps GSP from reading this thread and ambushing us?

Are they able to pull over the whole pack or just pick on the first and second?

I don't need another yellow slip.

nothing keeps them from reading it. They will be there. There is no guaruntee they will or won't be there. Just keep your eyes open and be safe.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe we decided to meet up atthe walmart in dahlonega around 9am. Just to help out those who aren't good with mornings. Then do a run or two head to vogel and grill out for a few hours then hit the roads again around 3ish I guess. Then go our separate ways.

There are two choices...7-8 or 2-3. Choose one. If someone is too slack to get up for this then I say too bad. But that's just the kind of guy I am. ;)

I wouldn't expect you guys to wait for me.......

not that Im against going earlier but I think 7-8 is too early if you plan on meeting for a cookout then running again at 2. Thats just too long in between I think the people on the morning run will be too tired after lunch to continue the journey. I plan on just making it for the after noon so y'all can do whatever you want, just my .02

thats why we had decided on 9am i think. a little more reasonable.

that way cookout between 10-2ish, give those afternooners a good place to meet. then leave from there

  37. bomjoon

^ do you even know the meaning of touge?

    :)

you dont wanna drift around a corner you want to be in a state where you are not really grip driving but then you are not drifting as well.

lol i sound rice as shit~!

Lol touge means Mountain Pass, so this is in fact a touge run. It had nothing to do with drifting.

I thought that was the Stock wing they put on certain Cobras or a special edition GT or whatever. Maybe I'm mistaken.

Found it it's the 2000 SVT Mustang Cobra R. Only 300 made and produced 385 HP and 385 Tq. A street legal race car.
