Wow, just found this thread, glad I searched before asking "where should I get my windows tinted?" Who do I need to contact to get in on this? I really need some tint for a good price, all other quotes I have seen were like $200+ By the way I have a 06 2.5i wagon. Thanks -Matt
Hey i might be in!! Let me know the details... I've gotten quoted a lower price so it kinda depends on that...
Ok, I was trying to do it for this Friday, but schedules are conflicting. I will have to wait till I get back from the holidays to get this done. I am leaving on the 18th of this month and will be back on the 6th of Jan. Prices are going to get lower since we have a few more people intrested. Pm me if you guys have any questions.
Be careful... To preface my post, let me give you a bit of background on myself. I spent quite awhile working and doing residential, commercial, and automotive films installation. Some of the clients I installed for include Dez White of the Atlanta Falcons (residential & automotive), Lou Sobh (his home as well as several dealerships and multiple cars for those dealerships), many vehicles for Toyota Mall of GA (they used Line-X previously, but had issues with their film having a green-ish tint to it), and quite a few others... What's the name of the shop you're thinking of having do this? That price is really low and details seem scarce on the film - so I'd be relatively careful of the film you're getting and the aspect of doign the tinting "on-site" is a bad idea. If it's 3M - find out, is it the CS or FX line? The CS is a carbon fiber composite; phenomenal film. If it's FX, it's not a bad film - still better than Llumar or many of the other cheap Korean films... In regards to getting it filmed "on-site" - there's a reason why most quality shops won't do this. It's almost impossible to get a clean tint job done out in the field. The dust partciels floating around in the air (if you've ever seen dust floating in the rays of light coming through a window you knwo what I'm talking about) will get caught on the film as it's being applied to the window and while they may seem small floating in the air, can make a huge difference in the quality of your film installation. I could go on for several hours, but I think you get the point. My personal recommendation, for those of you who want quality and aren't afraid to pay a little more to make sure you get the best possible. Give SOLAR Eclipse a call... Between the two owners Todd and Dan, they have a combined experience of over 15 years in this game. They're located in Buford across from the Mall of GA; same building of that complex as Hi-Fi Buys. If you want to give these guys a call, send me a PM and I'll see if I can get a group rate through them. They use only the highest quality films and gaurentee their work. Anyway - sorry for the long rant - just my $0.02...
My last 2 tints I paid $100 and they used 3m film. Given the guy did it at a discount, but his work was flawless. The bad part is he quit the shop he worked at and I have yet to track him down. He used to work for Traffic Jams, little Asian guy, or pacific islander I am not sure, name was Tam and he did the best tints ever, but can't seem to find him now, lol.
I'd like this to go through...The one shop that was on the list of potential individuals to do the job has tinted 3 or so cars for friends of mine. Ive watched all 3 jobs done, the work is flawless. Its nice to have a tint consultant, ty kolgoth
I am planning on getting my windows tinted pretty soon.. so.. if this goes down this weekend, I'm in..
agreed let me choose some 20% and be done with it (well let me get written up by the sandysprings police but whatever)
anyone know how long the probationary period is once you've had and paid a ticket for a tint violation? i wanna say they told me it was a year, but i could be wrong....? in other words they tell you once you strip it off if you get caught with another tint violation in the next xxx months/years/etc. then the fine is doubled and could result in other fines, reprimands, etc.
There is no way for each agency to tell that you even got this deal in the first place....now if the same cop or same judge are there for the second ticket you are screwed! But say you get a ticket in Cobb county and they give you the deal you mentioned and then get another ticket in Gwinnett, there is no way for the gwinnett judge to know that you got the deal in Cobb. But they will see that you got the ticket for it the first time.
thats what i'm saying. they pull up ur record and see that u had a ticket within the last year, so when u call up the most recent county's court to pay the fine its doubled. i signed something to this fact. but i don't have the copy of it laying around anywhere. regardless, I want to get 20% back on. LET'S DO THIS! here's and idea, why don't we combine this with another event day?!?!?! Say window tinting while we wait on dyno runs for dyno day? just a suggestion....
Is a Window Tinting G2G even going to be possible. If you are talking about having a professional come and do it, it will probably take them at least an hour, if not more per car. If anyone on here knows how to tint, that can be done, but I can tell you from personal experience that it is very difficult, especially the rear window, and I would think that us, non professionals, would take much longer per car, and would probably have a fairly crappy looking end result. I have tinted several of my other cars myself. They were all cheap old busted cars, so the quality of the work was not such a big deal. With my nice, clean, newish Subaru, I will not even attempt this on my own. I care much more for the quality on this car.
I was thinking the same, but the post on page 1 says they need 6 or so for the deal with Milo's guy. Unless this has changed
